Here kenpom rankings if anyone interested. Looks like we are second to last in the sec .
Just for discussion, and not saying Kenpom is the be all/end all or the gospel but it for some is seen as a fairly respected barometer - would you are anyone say we have the 13th best talent in the SEC?

This is stupid
If you haven’t noticed, we have a significant number of lizard-brained fans. They’ll read a season’s worth of box scores, then claim they’d make a better AD than Woodward.
It would be one of the funniest things in the history of this board if McMahon takes LSU on a run. If everything holds, next year’s roster is pacing to turn a corner… will be very interesting to watch

In bigtime college basketball, good coaching starts with bringing in top talent. If you do not start there, you cannot be a good head coach, IMO.
Now, after you get good talent, you need to develop them, coach them up, and motivate them.
As of Feb 10, 2024, I have not seen CMM do any of these things in an above average manner. But as I have posted here many times, I intend to give CMM three full seasons before making a final judgment. March, 2025 will tell the tale for me.

The man is a good coach, and if you don't understand why we're struggling, then you need to pay more attention.
This x 1000. frick all of you little bitches that don’t understand the situation. You idiots are an embarrassment to yourselves. Most of you should have been blow jobs and would be better off pulling for McNeese where you can gargle Will Wade’s balls without judgement.

What exactly the situation? Explain
Posted on 2/10/24 at 5:54 pm to Masonburden67
I watched KY play today with all the 5 star players struggling in the first half only to rebound in the second and lose by two. That ain't us. We are building a program based on fundamentals this takes take time.

Don’t compare us to Kentucky basketball

Again you make things up and supplement that with false statements and spin. So you’re doing exactly what I just described.

Arguing against sky screaming to fire a coach in year 2 almost has merit of its own in a contextless vacuum.
Unless you want to argue that we are trending down from last year, this is true pretty much regardless of any spin you want to put on it.
Almost everything other than the fact that he got a “year zero” & that we look better than we did last year at this point is spin.
It’s easy to make a judgement on McMahon after 2025. It’s premature now.
Please tell me how this doesn’t have “merit”.
Posted on 2/10/24 at 6:36 pm to DeathByTossDive225
Because it’s all vague excuse making. Again you don’t understated why we’re not winning so you fall back on talking points that were invented here by likeminded excuse makers. Anything besides the reasons we’re underachieving doesn’t have merit.

Remember, Madking hated Jayden Daniels & Will Wade

Ultimately a coach at this level of college or NBA is judged by their wins and losses. Obviously more goes into being a successful coach than knowing basketball.
I think McMahon has actually had some hits thus far in his recruiting. Ward, Reed, and Williams have all been good players. All have continued to improve. That’s a good sign, however, the one and done type players we saw come through with wade and through other top schools don’t seem interested. The way McMahon is building the program doesn’t appear to be for immediate success. So it all really depends on the extent of the players he recruits continued development. Which kind of sucks for us and the university because it takes 3-4 years to see if the time and money were wasted.

Pretty clear there is a talent issue & I’ve been pretty clear I think that will improve next year.
Anyone saying last year’s team had more talent than this year is being disingenuous + kind of arguing against themselves by suggesting McMahon is doing better this year with worse talent?
Next year’s roster will be the most complete he has had, with a true PG & two physical big men who can do more than just shoot Js.

Not sure if MK likes anything regarding LSU Les, but I’ll certainly hat tip to his passion and extreme want to argue for hours on end.

Nobody said that, there’s plenty of talent on this roster and you’re just making a wish about next year. If it doesn’t come true you’ll use the same argument for the season after. I’ve seen it since he arrived.
Posted on 2/10/24 at 6:52 pm to DeathByTossDive225
Baker just went for 22 in a half vs Bama. Name some other players who’ve done that this season I’ll wait…. Stop with the no talent stuff, there isn’t a single argument that supports it.

You just posted a big “gotcha” in another thread that the ‘22 class was McMahon’s best to date.
Make up your mind. Or just admit you’re married to being right about McMahon.
If we flop next year I’m gonna cut bait and eat crow because 3 years is a fair shake.
Miller got hurt and was a bust. Cook is not who everyone is pretending he is. Givens is a guy we vetted with time & went after with intent. If he is a flop, that’ll be on McMahon. I’m excited to see Givens + Miller + Chest with returning guards like Ward.

Yep and Willy wade has a duct tape transfer team . Who will win their conference and make the tourney. Before you say it’s mcnees state they have some very solid wins
Huh? They don't have quality wins. And they lost to SELA in one of two meetings. McNeese State also had between the 250th and 295th toughest schedule in the country depending on which site you go by. McNeese won't make the NCAA tournament without winning the Southland Conference tourney. Joe Girardi has McNeese in as the Automatic Qualifier (assuming winning the SC tourney). The current 2nd place team isn't in his field. McNeese better win the SC tourney or they are NIT bound.
