Joe Burrow would have 100% opted out
Joe Burrow took as much money as he could when his 2nd contract came up for the Bengals, not caring about paying for a full team. You think he wouldn't have opted out of a meaningless bowl game?
And that's not hate on Burrow it's just what the overwhelming vast majority of people would do in that situation.
Also, why are people mad at him opting out when most of you were dying to see Nuss play? I was bummed he opted out and a few others were, but many of you won't admit, but you were jumping up and down to see Nuss in that bowl game.
That guy got knocked out of the Bama game by a cheap shot and then the very next week broke records at UF that got his jersey sent to the CFB Museum. He had to be taken out of the SECCG game by the staff at half time because he was playing on one leg and taking hits.
This guy played the Missouri game injured in the game, dragging himself off the ground after scoring a crazy 30+ yard TD run.
While this whole situation is messed up, judging his character at LSU based on opting out a bowl game is ridiculous. Not once did he put blame on a defense that couldn't hold Ole Miss once while he put up 500 yards and 5 TDs.

Matt Lennart was asked if a recruit could wear his number and he told USC hell no.
Who would want to wear that jackass's number?

Jaxson Dart isn’t some scrub and Lane Kiffin has an elite system you know this don’t you?
Dart stats were on par with daniels rookie season he just got hurt a lot.

The stupidest part of this saga is that his desire is “respect” so he does the one thing guaranteed to destroy all respect both at LSU and in general.
Guy must just be a dumbass on top of arrogant.

I do not hold him not playing in the non major bowl game against him. I actually liked the way it gave Nuss the opportunity to get a real game under his belt and that JD actually was on the sideline encouraging him was something most players don't do. In situations like that, I prefer next years starter to get the reps, but do like the outgoing player to show up at the game and either don't play at all or just a few series.
