If he were Student Athlete opting out before getting life changing money I would not have a problem with him opting out. Once he accepted NIL he was no longer a Student Athlete. He was then a professional that did not finish the job.
Either way, what he is doing now is acting like a self entitled spoiled Brat!!

JD had nothing to play for in the bowl game BECAUSE HE WAS 9-3. This is the point. He delivered no championships. LSU invested in a 6’4” 130lb player, paid for him to be developed at LSU and around the country, and built the offense around him, from which he greatly benefitted, obviously far more so than LSU benefitted. 10 other guys on that field made way for his heisman, and they’re not sending C&D letters to LSU.
The kid is unprofessional and seeking the spotlight. He got it, and it appears it lighted him up for what he is, an ungrateful self-serving guy that is willing to alienate those who made him.
Bye, Jayden. Don’t come back.

Yes, I do remember, but at least he played the whole season and didn’t Quit on his team for the whole season like Jamar Chase did

Should USC not retire his jersey?
The school can do what they want but imo, no. Its a team game, and his teams never won shite, just like LSU with Daniels. You win the heisman and a natty, you get your number/jersey/name retired or whatever that school calls it.
And USC might not be the best school to use as an analogy at this point. They have caught hell for scrubbing Reggie Bush's name and number (NCAA mandated they argued) while leaving everything OJ Simpson related in place.

because he was "preparing for draft and combines" yet he had time to go to game and smile for the camera.
