Who else remembers that JD opted out of the bowl game during his Heisman year?

And he wants us to retire his number?

Not that opting out is that big of a deal anymore but it seems rather hypocritical to want something from a school when you couldn’t even finish out your last game with your teammates to prove how much the team and the LSU name meant to you!

I just don’t believe Joe Burrow would have opted out if a similar situation happened to him.

Let’s see….you've salvaged a season by giving the school Heisman performances week after week. You are looking at generational changing money vs. playing in a meaningless bowl game and risking your future.

I see no reason to play in that game.

Thats ok don’t complain in the future then. You didn’t win anything so the least you could have done is pretend you were all about school pride and gave one last game.

You didn’t and expect your arse kissed, insane.

You may be right. But don’t expect the school to retire your number forever.

He and his mom pulling this stunt and trying to monetize LSU involving him with promoting the programs says plenty about Jayden Daniels, regardless of sitting out a meaningless bowl game.

Caleb Williams ended his Heisman season losing to Tulane. Should USC not retire his jersey?

No shite it's a tradition. That's the point I'm making. But you and the OP are showing your ignorance in the comments being made thinking a meaningless bowl game matters. I'm trying to say how stupid you sound because it's like me suggesting USC take away his Heisman because they lost to LSUs little brother.

Matt Lennart was asked if a recruit could wear his number and he told USC hell no.
