We have 5 or 6 reasons LSU is a better place for he and his family. Whit is #1.
Also after we hire Kiff, we will fire Woody and bring Saban in as AD.
Saban and the new president will bring the General back.
Landry and Todd will be the reason.

He's the early favorite, so of course he won't end up here.

Kiffin is not going to retire at mississippi lol.
This was just a step in stone for him. He is finally at a point in his life.To take a major program over again, ever since the southern california fiasco

If LSU wants Lane they will wait. You dont hire a coach to save one recruiting cycle. Better to hire THE coach than a coach. (For the record im not saying he is) just saying you get the guy for long term success of the program not short term goals like recruits.

I’d be surprised if he did. The same type of contract we gave Kelly will be what is required to get him here. And I have a feeling we’re not going down the road of some massive guaranteed contract this time.

I agree that timing is off and is a long shot but both Kiffin and Kirby took HC jobs when they were in the middle of a championship run when they took FAU and Georgia, respectively.
They were both trying to recruit for their new teams while simultaneously getting ready for the playoffs.
Outside of Georgia, Ole Miss hasn't been challenged this year by a good opponent (not us or OU, who will also end up with at least 4 losses this year).
I think Ole Miss is good, but their schedule has shaped up very nicely for them.
They could make a run, but I don't think they will be in the championship when it is all said and done.
This hire is too important to rush just because "timing is off" If he is your guy AND he is willing to wait until after the season, that is what you do.

I don’t think Lane is coming. He’s in a good place and can be the man, not following in someone else’s shoes.

frick Kiffin, he's a cancer, in his position due to nepotism, and has never won jack shite, MAYBE as an OC with a very short leash
Honestly i would say that just 5-6 years ago but he's gotten better, and is one of the best around now IMO.

Lane has over 50% chance of coming.
He was OC against LSU in 2014 and 2016 where better Bama teams nearly lost to LSU cause of TS.
He also lost twice in TS with Ole Miss. He knows how tough it is to play and the sleeping monster Louisiana is with talent

There is basically no incentive, LSU could offer a massive contract but Ole Miss will match it and LSU is also about to fork over colossal buyouts.
He’s got a playoff team and probably 10 regular season wins for the foreseeable future. LSU has proven it’s not as easy to win as we once thought.
I do not know why he would leave.

Half this board will hate it cause they only trust JBE, Tate, and Woody.

Idk if he's coming, but I definitely want him.
I live in MS. I see what he's done for that program up close and personal. Guys, it would destroy their program if we took him.

Just got a feeling he’s not leaving Ole Miss. it’s just too good to be true. Plus we’ve passed on him twice now which probably isn’t a good look to him.

I HOPE he doesn't!
The undeserved hype around him will demand $15M a year for 10 years, fully guaranteed.
Hopefully, LSU learned a lesson with BK.

He can be the man here too. Just on a much bigger level. He’s not coming in like Deboer following Saban. He’s coming in as a savior on a white horse.
He’s comfortable in Oxford. He can run his mouth, win 8-9 games a year, and they’ll erect a statue of him.
It’s a bigger challenge here, but Saban-like immortality is what he can get here if he wins and has sustained success.
Bigger the risk, the sweeter the reward. Is he willing to make that jump?
Again, I think he’s happy and his family will also have a huge input on this, so I think he stays put.
BUT, it’s not going to be an easy decision for him.

I think he’d much prefer Florida to LSU. And even moreso, I think he stays in Oxford.
And timing isn’t right anyway.

I said he would stay in Oxford last week and I still think that. His mom and his brother's family relocated to Oxford. OMiss can pay him as much as LSU will. OMiss has paid more for their roster over the past 2 seasons than LSU has. OMiss is cruising toward the CFP. OMiss won't fire him if he goes 8-4 then 9-3. No Florida or LSU for Lane Kiffin. Just my opinion...

I honestly don’t believe LSU will get Kiffin. Despite what people believe, there is a shite load of money flowing into that AD right now and the fan base is rabid for a title. They will absolutely match whatever LSU offers.
Also, I think Florida is going to offer him a blank check.
