Y'all really care more about one single recruiting cycle over securing a long term coach? Lol we will be fine if we wait

I think the timing is off and I don’t think it’s a fit for LSU or Lane Kiffin. Lane has to coach in the playoffs and LSU is not going to wait for him. It’s just one of those things where the timing isn’t right.

Gotta agree. Theirs zero chance we’re waiting till January plus on kiffin that jus ain’t happening. A hungry up and comer is the way to go imo

If it’s determined that Kiffen is the guy and they know they can get him, you absolutely wait for him to finish the season. If they truly believe he’s the can’t miss option, it’s worth the potential first season setback for future success. Gonna be interesting to see it all play out.

I don't see it happening

I am hoping for a young coach who is hungry,

There are several really good options

think about it, Kirby Smart, he seved 9 years as DC before he got the UGA job

UGA took a chance on a coach who had never been a HC, he has won 2 titles!

Kirby is awesome

So we're going to have to think differently this time around

Big "can't miss fish" sometimes don't work out

Kiffin might not work out at LSU

I think he likes oxford and is staying with a nice raise, that's what I think

I also think he will continue to come up short

I think they'll pat him too, especially if they make their first SEC champ game ever. Going to Atl will feel like the Superbowl to them.

And I'm fine with that. I think his antics are masked by the run they're on right now. But his schtick gets old.

I don’t know anything. I’m only speculating.

He has a good thing going in Oxford.

When we hired Saban, I was only mildly familiar with him.

When we hired Miles, I was like, who?

I think one guy on TD even mentioned BK as a possibility.

I have a feeling whoever the hire becomes, I bet it’s someone not on our radar.

Me. The extracurriculars of the last 3 coaches are going to make them too gun shy now, as well as the price he will command.

LK is polarizing (love or hate) and imo I doubt the various power brokers will come to agreement and thus will settle. Unless, a money man steps forward to guaranty a future buyout if warranted.

Wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. We tried the big fish (Brian Kelly ) it didn’t work out.I think this search a perfect opportunity to go a different route and take a chance on a young hungry up and comer who is motivated to grind and will install a fresh culture. Jon Sumrall is the guy I absolutely would love in Baton Rouge. Dillingham is another one

Not a big fan of him. Kiffin will be another flash in the pan like O or Les. We need to get a find like Saban from Michigan State.
Tulane and Michigan State have the green theme in common. Lol...
My pick would be Sumrall!

I wholeheartedly hope sumrell is the guy. He would be a slam dunk up and comer hire. Ppl will compare him to billy Napier but ignored he had massive success at Tory before his current stint at Tulane that’s two places he’s had success. Not to mention has sec experience as a player ( LB at Kentucky ) and coach ( co-dc in 2021 at Kentucky ) .

I’d love that. I’ve been to a few Widespread Panic shows with him.

frick Kiffin, he's a cancer, in his position due to nepotism, and has never won jack shite, MAYBE as an OC with a very short leash

Who, that has won "jack shite", do you think LSU is poised to land?

Since 2017 these are the HCs that have led their teams to the CFP

Saban
Smart
Dabo
Day
Riley
Kelly
Fickel
Harbaugh
Dykes
Deboer
Sark
Franklin
Heupel
Cignetti
Lashlee
Freeman
Dillingham

Who on that list do you think (a) realistically would come to LSU AND (b) has a better history of success over the last 4 years than Kiffin (handicapping for the fact that Lane is at Ole Miss in the SEC...which most would agree increases his degree of difficulty)
