Amazing how many of you idiots still don't realize what was going to happen to football if Wade wasn't sacrificed...

What pisses me off the most is Wade was a dumbass. As stated, other coaches were doing practically the same thing, but they weren’t using their personal bank account to accomplish it, and they were smart enough not to be dealing with an arse who was recording their negotiations.
Secondly, for whatever reason, the NCAA has had it out for LSU ever since Dale was here and exposed them for the draconian, hypocritical bunch that they were. And Wade had to endure almost constant scrutiny from the likes of Dick Vitale and Pat Forde because that’s where they chose to attack. God forbid going after Duke, Kansas, or Louisville.
It was all a cluster, and the threat of what the NCAA would do to football if nothing were done to Wade gave Scott the chance to get rid of a guy he apparently didn’t like either. New AD, and he wanted to make a hire.

No one talks about it, and no one seemingly cares. I personally don’t care to watch any form of BB anymore but that’s just me.
Win and they will come. I guess it shouldn’t be surprising the fans don’t come out in droves to support a mid (at best) to consistently bad product.

Basketball is the most overrated major sport. Curling is more exciting to watch. 5 players is too few for a team game. The rules were put in place when the average human was much shorter. The officiating is the worst of any sport I can think of. A lot of the personalities are repugnant. The corruption of sport is obvious and disgusting. There are reasons that basketball ratings have been in free fall for a while.

Do you guys live in a bubble?

Viewers for NCAA finals last year are half that of 1985. MBB has become a niche sport.

All the good 20 year olds are already in the NBA. It's a talent issue imo

March Madness is the second most bet on sports event in the US and the tournament accounts for about 75% of NCAA’s total revenue
The MASH finale drew 100M viewers in 1983. No show in the 21st century has ever come close to that. Is that because TV is significantly less popular in 2025? Or is it because the public has countless more viewing options compared to the mid 1980’s?
That’s not to say the popularity of college basketball hasn’t decreased. It has. But it’s still far from a “niche” sport.

I honestly don’t understand these posts. Does the OP think college basketball just came to Baton Rouge eight years ago?

I do. I care about all LSU sports

So when you give people more choice and half the audience leaves that means it’s just as relevant? Gotcha.

Men’s basketball at LSU is just not fun anymore. Period. It sucks bc of the huge potential we have. LSU needs a leader that fires up the state. We like entertainers or winners. Doesn’t always have to be both. Right now we have neither. Nil age we die with our product and it’s shameful if we don’t make a change regardless if it’s a guy right down the street at Mcneese or someone across the country. Please make basketball fun again. I as a fan of college basketball miss it.

And likewise you must give a crap about basketball if you feel the need to post about it. Of course you just might be trying to get some of that attention that mommy never gave you.
Yep and you fell for it perfectly

What's even more amazing is dumbasses like you that can't comprehend that today's NCAA has zero power over a brand like LSU, and that Woodward most likely threw Emmert a bone as he was resigning from the NCAA to make it look like he was doing something positive instead of FLUCKING UP like he did for his entire tenure.
ANY big time athletic department with balls would have emerged from that bullshite with a slap on the wrist in both sports, AND Wade still employed. Instead we have a go along to get along BETA in charge of our athletic department.
It may well go above Woodward's head, but somebody at LSU bent over and took it.
