Whit Weeks is not the Honkey Badger and I’ll explain why.

A lot of people have been joking around about calling Whit the Honkey Badger. Please stop this shite.
Tyrann Mathieu is one of the most impactful, iconic defensive players to ever step on the field in Tiger Stadium. Show him his due respect. He is the Honey Badger. There has never been an LSU player like him and likely never will be again. His nickname is legendary and there should be no messing with it.
Whit looks to be our next great generational defensive player. If he keeps on and the fan base wants to bestow some bad arse nickname upon him then that’s great. But he is his own man and serves his own nickname, not a play on words from another players name. Give this man the respect he is beginning to earn as well.
Just my two cents and before anyone else brings it up, I will beat them to the punch. NO, this has nothing to do with race or racism. Honkey Badger was and is funny. It was funny to throw it out there in that one post. However both of these men have earned the right to have their own unique nickname.
Tyrann’s came about organically. I still remember that post. I believe someone else had called him “Little Ball of Hate” earlier in the season but Honey Badger is what stuck. Something good will stick for Whit as well.

Sorry, but to me a persons legacy, especially when well earned means something to me. Maybe it’s just how I was raised. You should have to earn your respect but once it’s earned then it should damn well be given.

It’s not disrespectful to TM7, it was more a funny comment by someone that took off.
I seriously doubt the national media is going to run with Honkey Badger like they did with Honey Badger.
