The media hates him. They thought it was absurd he would leave Notre Dame for LSU.

This actually isn’t true at all. A lot of media were honest about LSU being a top 5 job and thought this could be the move that makes him a championship coach.

I can’t even think of one media personality that wasn’t an Irish bitch already that said he was crazy to leave nd

Every Notre Dame head coach since Lou Holtz was universally hated and disparaged for no defensible reason other than the Irish's history and preferred place in the college football pecking order.

Kelly is smart and speaks well. He answers the media's questions. I think he is a refreshingly different, positive representative of our university.

Media and podcast clowns -- and yes, some idiots on this board -- keep repeating that "he's a bad fit" line, and that's bullsh*t. They think a guy has to talk like he has a mouthful of marbles to be a true SEC coach.

Kelly will be our next championship coach. I have faith in that.

Kelly is unlikable because of the deer in the headlights look on the sidelines. His terrible dancing skills, his lame table fist pounding, having to make his players have an appointment to see him. He looks uncomfortable for some reason

he also doesn’t “lecture” the media and talk down to them either

You mean like when he says embarrassing things and is called out on them by the media and gaslights and says he didn't say them?

I have to confess that I hated Saban when he was here because I found him so unlikable. I didn't realize that it didn't matter until Les kept running into a brick wall.

BK is the current winningest active coach with a strong desire to win his first championship. It's unfortunate he got to LSU while the game is being turned upside-down but at least he has shown ability to change and evolve with it.

1. Left Cincy in the middle of the night during their best season ever to take the ND job. Apparently didn’t tell the players or coaches bye. Just left.

2. Got a student assistant killed at ND by putting him high on a scissor lift to film practice during bad weather and the guy fell off the lift.

3. Comes off as a smug yankee prick at times.

I think he was the right hire at the time for us. The program needed stability and accountability after O. He definitely provides that.

The national media turned on him when he left the Irish and came down to the big bad SEC to chase a title. That's pretty much the long and short of what happened.

Actually, his supposed being unlikeable came from Notre Dame fans. What is nonsense is they claimed he was arrogant and has no sense of humor.. First, I think he is pretty humble and certainly has a great sense of humor. I watch most of his Monday media sessions and his humor is "dry". I don't think a lot of people even know that he is kidding most of the time. And as far as being a player's coach, he invites players to his house for special meals, etc. Basically the bad stuff being said about him personally is just character assassination with not one iota of truth to it

I have never met the man, but I know a few people who have pretty regular interactions with him. They all say behind the scenes he is actually a really cool, down to earth guy. Only thing ranters see is press conferences and sideline interactions with players. Not many on this board really have ever met or had a conversation with him. Apparently he is really cool in that situation. I think people who don’t like players getting yelled at have never played tackle football beyond elementary school.

Exactly. I agree. The yelling is usually good for the kids. Everyone needs a good arse chewing once in a while; especially at that age.

Have you ever heard him scrambling like a nervous politician after a loss? He’s got the ego of an all time great coach but he has nothing to show for it.
