I could be wrong.

I could very well be wrong as well, but I feel like there's plenty of room back there. My seats are out in rightfield, so I've kinda check out that area.

They should consider moving that entire maintenance area beyond left center. That’s prime real estate to use for that type of campus support. They could create some really interesting venues in that space that would enhance the fan experience.

I see this all the time about our stadium. A know a coach on another SEC school who just finished his playing career. He has been to every SEC stadium since their latest upgrade.
He love the Box and said their is a cluster of a few stadiums that he would consider equal, with each having something better than the other. He said MS St is head and shoulders above everyone else. The comment he made is the fact that we were the first to do the major upgrade and the others had the new Box to compare to for their upgrades.
While there are little things I wish they would change, mainly getting the bullpen off the field, I love our stadium.

They should have a walkway that goes around the entire OF fence and maybe put some kind of party deck things in CF. Something similar to what Minute Maid did in CF. Or make that one of the SRO areas. Could be like a mix of what TD Ameritrade and Minute Maid did in the OF.

One noticeable thing after watching the games was how nice Ole Miss’s stadium looks compared to Alex Box.

Only reason you could see the seats in the first place is because Ole Miss didn't put butts in them.

what’s worse bleachers or allowing fans standing room only in the grandstands. It’s kind of weird walking to get a beer and have people just standing in the aisle watching the game.

Man I sit on those cold/hot hard arse bleachers and I don't care one bit how much people complain that it's "an eyesore". Give me more of the things that have been happening on the diamond and between the foul lines and I will gladly rest my back and butt on metal for now as we hang a couple more championship flags.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against enhancing the fan experience at the Box but I think all the stadium complainers need to temper their expectations. Everyone wanted improved concessions and they are better this season. You wanted beer/alcohol...drink all you want until the 8th inning now. Walk thru
vending areas across the stadium too...not a "beer garden" tent only in the outfield corners. I too want to take this program and stadium to the next level but it's more important to me to focus on what's happening on the field currently.

As a season ticket holder coming from the old Box, in comparison, I have no issues with what we have now. Could it be improved on...sure. Give me another run going into the postseason and championship then let's talk about the next infrastructure improvement.

Why? This seems like a weird obsession. I have never once entered a ballpark and wished I had lugged my grill and a bunch of food into the park with me.

You don’t bring a whole grill with you to the game. Look at Mississippi St. they have grills built into their sections. You can go in a couple of hours before the game, drop off a couple of ice chests of beer and meat, leave, then come back for the game. It’s the same as tailgating is it not?

LSU went first in the baseball stadium wars
This keeps being said and it’s totally false. Baum had suites and chairbacks everywhere in 2006. Founders was in 2009 and was better from the start. Even when we opened in 2009 we were missing most of the suites and RF bleachers. The only leg up we had and still do is the players areas.

Florida State has bleachers as well and no outfield seating. Very old school feel which I love.

Our bleachers in outfield are too much bleacher. It’s not like cowbell where there’s no such thing as too much

We need a berm or something out there

You're the most ACKCHUALLY person alive Ell. Baum was built in fricking 1996. The new box was built in 2009. The original Box structure was from 1938. I'm not comparing when Arkansas renovated their noveau riche stadium less than 10 years after they built it to our new construction.

South Carolina and LSU broke ground in short succession from one another. LSU I believe rendered their project first. None of this is germane to the issue that I raised, which is LSU basically told their architects to move the old box to a new location, build a club and suites and leave exposed beams to put more suites when we feel like it.

I think the thing that may hinder getting rid of bleacher is capacity. I don't know for a fact, but I'd assume if they removed bleachers and added individual seats, it'd reduce the capacity of the box some. More butts can fit across a row of bleachers than individual chair back I'd assume

Of course, this is the reason. They need to figure out the money they'll lose in reduced capacity and concessions and pass that on to the season ticket holders. Baseball tickets are relatively cheap, and I don't think they'd have any issue selling tickets at a higher amount.

I don't see a party area or berm ever happening.

Berms might look good on tv but they suck for sitting or standing. When sitting, you’re constantly being dragged downhill so always readjusting even if it’s just 1/2” at a time. It’s not comfortable after 3-4 innings and your butt will be hurting before the game is over. And, standing up for anything longer than a couple mins between innings is crap.

I don’t get the fascination except for kids running around & sliding downhill.

It was renovated in 2006 Rick to its current state (close to it at least. It has had more since then). I did a whole thread on this a year or two ago going through every sec stadium and when they were built and most recently renovated and which ones had bleachers. Only Mizzou and Tenn are as dated as the box when it comes to the fan experience and it was dated when it was built. It wasn’t the “first” in anything.

ACKCHUALLY it was renovated in 2003, 2004, 2006, AND 2007. Get your fricking shite right. See people say that it was renovated in 2006 BUT THEY ARE COMPLETELY WRONG!

a large outfield berm with at least two different elevations would be cool.

It's not like our administration actually feels like this, though, and is saving us from our desires out of altruism. We have one at Tiger Park.

The 2006 one is where it got it’s current look. The other ones simply added seating and other minor improvements. Look, there’s no reason to get upset when it’s pointed out that LSU wasn’t on the forefront of a race and that’s why they were behind. All I’m trying to say is that they were behind from the start. Idk why you’re melting over it.
