this team has an era half of what we had in 2023 . our pen was terrible most of that year . worse than this year,by a lot.

This is true. But our 4 headed group of pitchers I believe is better than our top 4 was in 2023. Now 2023 had several guys step up which would be big again this year if guys like Rizy and a couple others keep coming along. Hitting wise we had a cheat code with Crews and Tommy White to follow that we just do not have this year. So situational hitting becomes the upmost importance that we need to be better at. If we improve in that area I think we have a chance.

Our starter is out for the season we have another one on injured reserve if I remember correctly also called stud pitchers didn't exactly Shine till Omaha

The conference is too good to expect a team to win 90% of their conference games. It’s unrealistic at this point.

I'd bet even money this team will place more guys in the Majors, and have more at high levels in the minors. 2023 had the two automatics, of course, and this team can’t match that, but this team has way more depth.
The 2023 team had several starters that had no chance at a MLB career, guys like Beloso and Dugas, who were very good college players but not near the upside of the position players on this team.

Because people see us beating up on garbage teams in non conference play and think it will transfer to SEC play. But little do they know they have no clue.
