When was the last time LSU had 3 D-linemen make the preseason SEC roster?

Ojulari, Gaye, and Masson on LSU’s D-line all made the All SEC preseason roster. Also Boutte made first team SEC offense in a pass happy league which a is a huge statement when you consider how many talented wide receivers are in the SEC.

Chad Lavalais was never on a team with Glenn Dorsey (I don’t think he played with Jackson either but would have to check).

Edit: Jackson redshirted in 2003 so he and Lavalais were technically on the same team, but they were never on the field together.

Edit again: Jackson didn’t get here until 2004, so they didn’t play together. Lavalais played with Spears and Hill (RIP). I think Kirstin Pittman is probably the only D-lineman to play in 2003 with Lavalais and 2007 with Dorsey/Jackson.

Yes forgot about him on the edge also. Man hopefully we can get back to that level. This year's team looks great up front.

My last memory of Mingo/Montgomery is how they checked out for the bowl game against Clemson. I sat behind the LSU bench. No intensity when it mattered. I think this is the first time I saw players saving themselves for the draft.

Actually Tyson redshirted in 04, then played 05-08. They were never on the same roster.

Hill (Jr), Williams (So.), Lavalais (Sr.), Spears (Jr.) were the starting dl in 2003.

Dorsey and Jackson were 2004 signees.

And I've seen Roy mocked as high as the 4th pick in the next draft.

I'm probably most excited to watch the DL break stuff this year.

Back of the first round would be a great outcome for him. Anyone mocking him at the 4th pick is on drugs.

The best remedy for an unproven LSU secondary is a Dline that can apply pressure and attack the line of the QB.

Hopefully they don’t let Florida state run all over them like ucla did.
