I was there. I think it lightly sleeted but don't remember snow.

I also remember the drunk dude in his tighty whities running out onto the field and the cop completely laying him out with the best tackle I saw all night.

Before the game, they showed video of the LSU players during walk-through at ND stadium having a snowball fight. The announcer said that much of the team had never even seen snow.

Not sure why I remember this.

I was there. My recollection is flurries, then the sun came out right at the end of the game when we had it sewed up.

Sleet, and cold as hell at the Independence Bowl vs ND, but no snow. Lucky enough to be a ball boy for the game and me and my friend had to go out to his dads car at halftime to thaw out. Funny thing about the legendary streaker: I was watching baseball tonight like 5-10 yrs later and a team (maybe the A's) were on a huge winning streak. They cue up the video of the Independence Bowl and start discussing legendary streaks!

I was also there at age 15. It was a cold-wet-wintery mix, but not actual snow.

This same subject came up in 2014 as snow was forecast for the Arkansas game in Fayetteville. I was also there for that game. It never actually snowed during the game, but snow came in the next day and the temp dropped like crazy. Took us 6 hours to drive from Ft. Smith to OKC (normally a three hour drive). That turned out to be just a miserable weekend all around.

The Saints played in the snow a few times during the Chuck Muncie era (even in games at The Dome)

After that Indy Bowl game we thought Lou Tepper was a genius.

I witnessed this dude climbing the fence to get on the field. We immediately turned in to his biggest fan club.

I still can't believe the Indy bowl got LSU vs. ND...

The streaker was flying a Louisiana Tech flag.

Louisiana Tech had a good season in 1997, I believe they went 8-3. They didn't make a bowl that year because there weren't 64 bowl games played like now.

The Arky game was in the early 90's and was in Little Rock. Miserable game. I couldn't wait to leave. Lots of freezing rain and sleet.

Notre Dame in the 97 Indy Bowl--slush, some ice, and a brutally cold wind that would cut right through you--but no snow.

Yep, started snowing late in the 3rd quarter and came down pretty heavy in the 4th. Walking on Regent Street after the game and there was a good layer of snow on the sidewalks.

Arky game a few years ago there were flurries. Don't remember if it was in LR or Fayetteville.

I initially was thinking he carried the flag, but I believe it was actually a different couple streakers who were tech students running out on the field with a tech banner as a protest to getting passed over that year in favor of LSU and Notre Dame. But really, there was no way they could have picked any other teams considering it was and will forever be the dream scenario for the independence bowl. They will never have a better matchup, considering the home state program against the history and prestige of Notre Dame.

Nevermind.

I don't know what I'm talking about.

I could've sworn it was Illinois and we played within driving distance of BTR. It was snowing when we got home.

Seems like it was a bowl, and we lost it on the last play and Saban was coaching.

But I was drunk, so its fuzzy.

Yeah, see my edit.

We played Iowa in Orlando?

Then I have no idea what game I'm talking about...shite.

Evidently we beat Illinois that night in the dome, and it snowed on the way home. I was getting it confused with the Iowa bowl game is all.

I was drunk...again.

Independence Bowl in 97. By the way if you care to watch the game on YouTube, you can view one of the best offensive lineman to ever don a uniform for the Tigers; Mr. Alan Faneca. I believe 8 pro bowls and at least one super bowl ring.

Have seen several field level runs of backs following him down field and OMG!
