Good - Make it to CWS. Don't go 0-2. Honestly should be the standard EVERY year for LSU.

Bad - Anything less, especially an exit prior to the CWS. LSU has one of the weakest regionals in the field. LSU's also paired with the Lexington Regional with UK (2-1 H2H record), West Virginia (entering on a 5 game losing streak), or Indiana (7-12 record against Top 50 teams).

Any year you are a top 8 seed is a good year, period.

It would be somewhat disappointing if you lose in the regional

If you make it to Omaha that’s a great year. Wit it then it’s legendary

As always Omaha or Bust. We are way past anything else boing acceptable. And this team is as good on paper as any we’ve ever had.

With Skenes and our lineup, I would consider two and bbq in Omaha a failure.

Make it to the CWS or bust. After watching pitching melt down, I don't think we have enough in the tank to win it. But I do think they can get through regionals and Supers. Just make it. If you lose, you have a lot to build on.

If they don't make it past super regionals: big fail. If they don't make it past regionals - colossal fail with a lot of anger to drag with you through the offseason.

2-2 in Omaha is my threshold for a good season. 1-2 or worse is meh. Not making it is bad. Not making a super is a disaster.

It’s going to be really hard to beat a team that has 2-3 legit starters in a super.

Luckily there aren’t any teams fitting that description in Kentucky’s regional. I couldn’t find conference only stats for UK, but their #2 and #3 are 4-3, 5.28 ERA and 4-4, 5.61 overall. West Virginia doesn’t even have an ace, much less 2-3 high caliber pitchers. All 3 weekend starters had ERAs of 5.45 or higher in conference play. Indiana didn’t even have a 2nd or 3rd starter in conference play with only 2 pitchers starting more than 2 conference games and one of those 2 only throwing 13 IP in 6 starts. Their “ace” had a 5.48 conference ERA. They mostly rely on two relievers with ERAs under 3.00 who had 36 IP and 21.2 IP in 8 conference appearances each.

Down year-Don't make the post season

That will get you fired in Baton Rouge. That means you ended up in the bottom 4 of the SEC, or 5 after UT and OU enter. That's like a football coach not making a bowl game. One year of doing that and nobody should have a problem with you getting fired unless there are serious extenuating circumstances(i.e. Covid.)

It's been a good year. We were ranked #1 for half of the season BUT - that's not the goal.

Getting to Omaha is a successful season. In any year. To me, that's the bar for us. Get to Omaha. That means you're 1 of the Last 8 teams standing and it's hard to get there.

With our resources, the talent and coaching we can draw and the support from the fanbase, we should be getting to Omaha frequently.

Missing the field of 64 completely - that's unacceptable and is a bad season. Now - if we had a ton of injuries - I might can understand it.

Losing at home in the Regionals is Sad. Tough to deal with. But it's going to happen sometimes.

Losing in the Supers - It happens. I hate it but I can understand it depending on who.

Any team they play in supers will throw their weakest pitcher against Skenes and concentrate on other 2 games.

Let them do that then. if you're going to purposely give away a game because you're scared of 1 pitcher then that is a loser mentality and will comeback to bite you in the arse. It is very hard to win 2/3 but to win 2 in a row after throwing a game is even harder.

A realistic expectation would be to make it to the super regionals. Considering LSU has 1 starting pitcher

I still don't understand the hatred for Ty Floyd. He is a legit number 2 starter. The ERA across the entire country is up this year. HRs are up this year. He is 7-0 and gives us a very good chance to start every time he pitches.

Every year my idea of a good year is being in a super. Everyone is good at that point. A really good year making it to Omaha and a great year is winning a few in Omaha.

Winning is hard. They’ve played a lot of baseball up to this point and you just need to be hot at this time.

Omaha is the goal, but would anyone be shocked if we don't make it out of a Super Regional? Over the past month, we have looked very beatable. Yeah, hurt pitchers didn't help, but our hitting has gone down & errors up which is not a good sign at this point of the season..

Wake Forrest seems to be one of the only teams with 2 Legit Aces on staff w/a very good Game 3 Pitcher as well.

WF will be a hard out, especially B4 Omaha.

Good: CWS
Down: not getting out of regional

I will be disappointed with anything less than a natty, but hard to call 42-13/19-10 a down year. We have had a good year already. Being a contender for a natty is a good year for me, even if we don't finish as the champion. I want to win it as much as anyone, and still hoping we do. This team should end up in Omaha, and should make a good showing there. Winning it all will take some luck and improvement from our play from the past month.

Make it to Omaha and prove you got a little bit more fight in you, even one win there = very good season.
