Wondering when it will be made public what the Plan is that has been presented in the two meetings held this week at the Governor’s Mansion? Or, will it ever be really public? I’m just curious as to what it is as I’m sure many others are since it’s been described as a “game changer”! Thanks!

It will be a TAF function. So know one of the 11 members that vote on TAF.

Heard from a very good source that they are getting 100 million from a billionaire donor plus they are going to take a portion of the $70 million in SEC money and invest it. They will take the donor money plus SEC TV invest gains and put towards NIL. They expect $8-$10 million a year in revenue from this model. The SEC money contribution to the fund will be added every year.

So basically an endowment? If that's the case, what is the valuation for?

Honestly, why haven't they been doing this for the past 20 years as a way to maintain funds? I know NIL is new, but they still could've been doing this to maintain/grow budgets for a long time.

Two reasons, the first bring that they have a huge spending problem and spend everything they take in.

Second, to a lesser extent they use to give a donation to the university. That’s not true any longer, but those millions could have been invested.

Ah so the department no longer donates a ton to the university? I didn't know that.

And I agree that there's too many fat cats in the department who think they deserve the best of everything and spend way too much. They need to start working/operating as if they are $30M in the hole, which is apparently the case.

Ftom what I read that is the case. I believe Scott Woodward cut that out several years ago.

Yeah, thats what they are doing and when word got out they sent everyone they could to radio shows to say "it's not private equity" to do damage control. Although none of them could say what it is or what its going to be they just said "Its going to be good and we don't know what it is but it's not private equity". Its PE.

They’re just now doing this?

I'm sure a shadowy consortium of financial services firms is going to give LSU $100 mil cash with absolutely no strings attached, whatsoever.

This has been planned for several months maybe longer. This will help make up for the additional scholarships we have to pay for in all sports, including an extra 20 in football and 23 in baseball, plus dome extra coaches and staff.

The one you will hear about soon is Suite Owners are on notice. Many original suite buyers give little to no xtra money. It’s been a touchy situation till now. Those owners will be or have been told a minimum of 100K annually will be necessary to keep the suite. 2-3 yrs to comply. There’s young money in line to scoop them up. I thinks it’s the right

A select few will get together and form an investment group to put in 100mil collectively for a 9.5% non controlling ownership into (a public tax payer institution) LSU athletics. The investor group will also receive investment returns back to themselves. Basically the boosters will now get a return on their donations to LSU as a portion of LSU profits will be returned to this investment group. It appears LSU will be investing the 100m into profitable businesses to get a return on the money so they don’t have to go beg for money from the boosters quite as often. Not quite sure what they are investing in though maybe it’s the S&P 500 or SpaceX?

NIL and the transfer portal will destroy collegiate football. In fact it's already destroyed it. Those players getting paid millions are not collegiate players, they're professional football players.

Tell me again how much money LSU Athletics plans to set aside to pay NIL benefits? Welcome to the age of mega-collegiate football programs.

But ignore me, I'm one of those old guys who believed that an athletic scholarship was a good way for a young athlete to get a quality education at a great university.

And the NCAA is the NFL's bitch.

There, I said it.
