When I watched his E60 or whatever it was called. Still had that “troll” in him, but you could tell he had grown as a man, a father, an ex husband and a coach.

I initially wanted us to find the “younger Lane”, which would have been a huge risk. I’m glad we got the real one at this point in his career.

When for me? Over the last few years proving himself at Ole Miss. HE built that.

He’s master of the portal if having resources. It’s a new world and new age of college football now, and he seems to do it the best. And we’re committing to it.

I wouldn’t have considered him for previous hire, but he’s clearly proved himself since. He’s not the same Lane Kiffin from 10-15 years ago. I was all chips center table ALL IN this time around the day we fired Kelly.

I want high scoring offenses and mobile quarterback.

Plus I “hated” him with a smile on my face. Like a wrestling villain. His online and tweets and trolling were good stuff. And now he can do it on our behalf. Love it. GEAUX Tigers

I came around on him when I saw the other available options for us to hire.

My preference would be a Saban-like arse kicker instead of kiffin’s social media schtick. But he’s a great play caller and it should be a fun ride at least. And he’s a modern style coach that appreciates the portal, nil, etc which we need going forward. Also I’ve been watching more of his interviews and pod cast appearances this week and he’s more likeable than I realized once you kinda get to know him. Or maybe that’s just because he’s in purple and gold now.

This.

He acts like how I would be acting as a big time football coach. Minus the joey freshwater shite

I haven’t yet. I’m hoping having better talent will overcome his propensity to lose 1-2 games he shouldn’t each year.

his only loss this year was by 1 possession to Georgia.

not sure i would classify that as a game he “shouldn’t” lose

Ole Miss hasn’t played Western Kentucky since 1942

i don’t think Kiffin was involved in that game.

When listened to his initial press conference Monday
I, too, thought he was a cocky jerk but he said some things I thought indicated lessons learned and a bit of maturity.

Five years ago my wife asked who he was and I said he’s a real jerk of a guy and coach. Why, she asked. So I told her some of the shenanigans with coaching changes and trash talking. Two years ago I mentioned I liked him now and he seemed to have changed. Still had a bit of a troll in him but not hurtful. And I respected what he did at Ole Miss even though I completely HATE GTHOM. I had no idea he would be our coach but he proved himself at a smaller school so why not move up to the big time? He was my second choice this year after St Nick.

When I saw the ESPN thing the morning of the LSU game this year.

Wife is an ole Miss fan as well as my in laws so I’ve heard about him a lot over last 6 years.

I despised him prior. Didn’t want him 4 years ago.

I told my wife after that espn story on him that I have changed my mind on him and would take him at lsu. I remember her saying “he’s not leaving Oxford”.

I’m not sold on him being the answer, but there’s no one else that I would have preferred they get. There are still too many questions about what it takes to be successful in the current era or what success even looks like. With the supposed clamp down on NIL, things may be changing yet again.

Once the story was solid that he had quit drinking and stayed off the sauce completely and seeing how it positively affected all aspects of his life and also improved his good and consistent teams.

So I was in about 2024ish.

But I absolutely despised BK from the beginning so I was ready earlier just didn’t trust Lane until after his 24 season at the helm.

He gave them 6 solid years and helped build their program up.

If they can’t capitalize on it, tough shite I say.

They should be thankful don’t go out being a bitch and all sad about it.

Not a Kiffin fan but he is our coach now. I support him 100% but my opinion of him won’t change. I just hope we get another championship before he does something similar to us.
