once again, you missed my point, which is you don't have to blindly support a coach just because he wears purple and gold. And the number of years he's here doesn't really matter.

Not really. His three classes were ranked 32, 15 and 17, respectively.

You have to conduct an actual coaching search before you can make that determination.

I think he's a good recruiter. I think he's a much better recruiter when he's selling someone else's program, though.

A program full of five stars at one position and a program full of lazy bums at the most crucial LOS. A program with no depth at LB. A program with no QB. At least he's loading up at all these spots.

If you don't think that Saban would have struggled mightily without decent DL "depth" or LB "depth" then all you have to do is look at his 2004 year. He even had decent starters but depth was young but talented. How did big bad Saban do that year? We also had some ST woes that year. Looks very similar to 2017. We also lost to every decent team that year. At least O beat one. It was a close call against "Troy" that year as well. 24-20

He's creating the quality depth we need to compete at a high level and he sure as hell didn't have it when he came so just stop acting as though he did. He didn't. They were soft, especially at the LOS and at QB.

He needs to have a 2005 type of season and should IMO. We really need to start off with a bang and take it to Miami. I hope I see a opportunistic defense coupled with good/great QB play with an OL that can protect and score in the RZ at 80% or better. I want to see STs improve with better coverage and a kicker who can consistently make FGs. Maybe some TOs and quick scores more often wouldn't hurt either. Just good all around football. GT

Then this proves that he knows how to spot talent and or develop it. There is no question that his players and teams were better than Nutts. He admits making calls and coaching like a DL coach as HC and probably lost 2 or 3 games he should have won. We'll see if he's learned a thing or two or if he just isn't cut out very soon.

He's definitely not ruining our program with the talent he's bringing in so if he doesn't work out the next coach will have something to win with if anything. Now if the talent was dwindling then I might be on the dump train much quicker but I just want to see what he does with his roster full of his own talent. It looks pretty darn good from here. GT

My goodness.

LSU didn't even try to have a coaching search.

And there are far more qualified candidates out there. O most likely could have been retained as DL.

I regret the day they made him interim coach, because Alleva was stupid and it also put him in the position to get his feelings hurt. He didn't do anything to earn this gig whatsoever.

Just like USC, he benefited from EXTREMELY talented teams vs a very weak schedule that played a little better once he took over, yet both still wound up with 2 losses in shortened seasons.. It really wasn't even impressive.

Any ways, O is building solid trenches so I am happy about that. That's really all I've got. LSU when established recruits itself.. We had just finished with a top 5 class Miles' final season I believe? Louisiana is loaded this season, so I would like to expect another top 5 class this year.

You're a looney. Miles did 9-4 or worse 4 times and was well on his way to doing worse in 2015.
Nice calculating I got '08, '09 and '14 for 3/11.
3 losses or less 8/11, and 2 Ls or less at 5/11.
Orgeron is batting a thousand at 4 or more losses, and equaling Miles success will be quite a while, or maybe never.

Weren’t we ranked #14 in the nation by scouts.com in 2018?

Wasn’t that the worst recruiting finish for LSU in ten years?

If LSU is in the top 5 come Feb 2019, I’ll give him his props.

Until then, none of what he’s doing means sh*t.
