Now I'm a senior at LSU, so I still cheer for LSU pretty much 51 out of 52 weeks of the year. But I'm always for Florida over LSU.
This is about the most screwed up thing I have ever heard in the fandom world.
Please go gator for the other 51 weeks too.

I met my husband at the LSU vs Rice game our Freshman year at LSU in the 80's. We both graduated and he went on to get his DVM at the LSU Vet School. While we were at LSU and while my husband was at Vet School, we never missed a Tiger football or baseball game. The early 90's were some glorious baseball years. We've moved many times since then but are now closer to home and to the Tigers so we've been going to games again. And our son has been raised a full-blooded Tiger.

My entire family (both immediate and extended) is from Louisiana with homes stretching from New Orleans to Lafayette. I was born in Baton Rouge and spent the majority of my childhood there. I grew up an ardent Tiger fan.
My Father was in sales and received a promotion which eventually landed us in GA. Been there ever since and graduated from UGA (went there because of the HOPE scholarship).
Although my alma mater is UGA, the purple and gold has never left my veins.

I make one little joke about ppl leaving early and somebody gets their panties in a wad. Is there a good reason for your distain towards my comment or do you just like to beat traffic too???
you should not.
I am guessing you are in BR, single w/ few responsibilites where it cost you 2 hrs traveling time (coming/going) + cost of ticket to attend the game.
Many that leave early have paid for baby sitters, etc or have to drive back home. Some drive back as far a S'port or Alex after the game.
Give them credit for showing up rather than criticize them for leaving.
When I get the chance to go to a game is about a $500 investment if in BR..
You do not know the other people's position....
they are also LSU fans.

So you invest $500 to go to an LSU football game and then leave 20 minutes early to beat traffic?
Wow.

Costs me more than this. That is the reason I never leave early. I want to take advantage of every minute.
(not saying you are not a fan)

My grandfather got his Master's from LSU. My dad got his J.D. from LSU. My brother did his undergrad at LSU. My uncle did undergrad at LSU then went to LSU School of Dentistry.
I grew up going to LSU games every weekend in the spring and fall.
Oh, and I was a varsity athlete at LSU for 4 years.

This thread is retarded. Pulling for your state college is not just about if you went to school there, it's about state pride as well. My grandfather had season tickets from the early 50's until he died in the late 90's. I've been going to game since I was 5 years old. I've held season tickets since 1996 and am in an established tailgating crew. Who cares if you have a degree. Sounds like the OP is just a stuck up douche.

True of course. Posting is optional obviously.
This thread is for fun on a day when the rest of the rant is FOS.

I grew up in St. James Parish when Tulane was a factor in the 70's. The entended family's allegiance was sort of split between Tulane and LSU. My cousin kicked for Tulane in the early '70's (when Tulane upset LSU in a huge game). It led to a widening of the gap (hatred) between the two groups and bragging rights, etc.
It's ashamed that Tulane is such a non-factor today. Now I despise Ole Miss (as if that was a secret).

TOP ME!
Can't top that but have a different perspective.
I grew up kind of poor and our idea of a fun Saturday night was to drive up river road to see the stadium lit up on a Saturday night from atop the levee. The lights and the cars and people were awesome to a kid. Parents never went to college.
But they assured me I would. Only applied to one school, turning down scholarships to USL and SLU. Had no money to attend LSU(TOPS wasn't around yet) but quickly found student loans were available for pofolks. I'm still GLADLY paying off my student loans from 99 to have two degrees from LSU and the right to say

I grew up listening to Tigers @ the Deer Camp in the sixties. Have watched & listened to every game possible. My ole Daddy taught me to love the Tigers. Also walked on in the Seventies. Damn right, I am a fan. Sorry about the degree, my wife has that. A Degree is not needed if your from Louisiana & love Football.

Offered a scholarship to play baseball, signed, then drafted and went to pro ball. Still love LSU tho

I was born and raised a Tiger. My dad took me to my first LSU home game in 1987 vs. Ohio State, and I have loved that university and its athletic teams ever since. My parents held season tickets from the early 80's to the mid 90's. I still haven't forgiven them for giving the tickets up! After high school, I attended LSU for 3.5 years, but did not graduate, as I had to take a year off of school to deal with family stuff. When I returned to school, I decided to transfer to Southeastern LA University as it offered me the path of least resistance to graduate, and because LSU's business school changed the curriculum to my major. Once, I graduated, I stayed in Denham Springs for a year, and then moved to Houston. I've been here for a year, and I miss good ole BR everyday.
I'm a fan.

That's most def true. Don't need a degree to be a fan, especially older fans.
My gripe is with folks from S. LA who chose to go to different schools for education but then don the purple and gold on gamedays like LSU's biggest fans.
