More parity than ever in the SEC, first year with 9 SEC games, only two cupcake non-conference games...

What's your record prediction for Lane's first year and how did you decide on 12-0?

I want us to be competitive to start games. Under Kelly, we started too slow. I want our defense to look stout in Year 3 of Blake. We know that we will win games.

I'm not setting myself up for disappointment with crazy expectations.

For me a good season is just being in the conversation for the playoffs come late November. Feels like every year we were completely out of it by early November under Kelly. It’s a tough schedule with so much roster turnover and a coach here for his first year. so I’m happy with that being the floor for what’s considered successful.

10-2, get the first 3 games done and let the team gel and I just have a feeling in the plums, LSU is going to be the talk of college football this year.

For frick's sake - LSU has outspent everyone for years. This current roster and coaching staff, including buyouts for the last staff (you know - the staff who coached in 2025 and weren't retained?) is rapidly approaching $125m or more. I would love to say I'm exaggerating, but I'm likely underestimating some things I'm not in the know/have forgotten about.

If this team does not get into the playoffs - and win at least 1 game - in 2026, it is an utter and colossal failure.

Period. There is no tomorrow. There is no "next year". 2026 is literally all there is.

9-3.

Drop 2 against A&M, Bama or Texas.

Headscratching loss at Auburn or Tennessee.

Give me a solid O-line. A lot can happen from there.

Keep our starting corners healthy.

May have a little transplant shock at first with the new staff/players, but
carrying no more than one loss before November would really make me excited.

Exciting, competitive football. Even some of the wins felt like losses last year. And of course being in the conversation for the playoff down the stretch.

9-3 worse case scenario

Loss to Ole Miss
Loss to AM
Loss to Texas

10-2 best case
loss to 2 of the three that I just listed

8-4 could happen

Trey Dez could be unstoppable and healthy with a good running game, team could go 11-1

9-3. Goals should be to go 3-2 on the Road and 6-1 at Home. If we can do better than thats just gravy.

I’m trying to avoid expectation. Just excited and want to enjoy good football. It’s better for my mental health this way.

Brutal schedule and will probably take the team some time to gel.

Expecting 9-3 this year and playoffs in year two. Anything better than that and I'll be over the moon.

10-2 maybe 9-3 if there is a fluke game like the 7ot vs A&M in 2018.

I think 8-4 is possible but so is 11-1/12-0. I like our roster a lot against OM, A&M, Bama. Texas is even

Coming around to 10-2. If the offense last year scored more than 25 a game in every game last year, they would’ve been 10-2.

I’m expecting Lane to have the offense rolling by midseason and the defense will be ready to go by game 1. You’ve got a lot of returning vets and guys who got a lot of experience last year coming back on defense. And you added a top 3 pass rusher in the league, the top tackler in the league, and Buck Benefield who should step in Haulcys role nicely.

We can't have spent all this money and not go to the playoffs. CAN'T HAVE.

LSU should close up the football program - for good - if we can't get to the playoffs in 2026.

I think 9-3 - loss to A&M and will lose two of our three games against Bama, Texas, and Tennessee - and I would be ecstatic with that for LK's first year -

I believe a 10-2 regular season is more than a fair expectation considering the investment.
However, my expectation is 9-3/8-4. They obviously have the talent. I just don't know if they can be made to gel quick enough with this schedule.

Like you its all hope and expectation on the defensive side. Give us a D early on and let the offense build for once.
