re: What’s worser? The 2023 defense or the 2025 offense?

Without the 2023 bad defense JD doesn’t win the heisman
Bad take. Joe Burrow says hi.
Daniels still wins the Heisman if we have a good D because we’re undefeated national champions in that scenario, just like the 2019 team.
10-8-25 Edit: Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves that this post received 5 downvotes. Anyone with half a brain knows that 2023 would have won a championship just like 2019 if the defense was better. Did a better defense stop Joe Burrow from having ample opportunities to be productive and win the Heisman in 2019? Of course not.
After clarifying all of that, can you see why only a retard would downvote this?

Well, we have over half the season left so it is too early to say. However, we can safely say that you are borderline illiterate.

The 2023 offense spearheaded by Heisman winner Jayden Daniels was a defense all its own, and during 10 games that year we kept the opposition from winning just by outpointing them! Jayden won at least three games that year on his own-- vs Missouri, A&M and Florida. The games were fun, and entertaining, and even one loss at Ole Miss was well within reach of a win on the last LSU drive.
I think when all is said and done the 2025 defense will prove to be the worsest LSU team unit yet, as the lack of any meaningful offense means they'll be on the field too long and will be helpless to stop anyone, as was proved last Saturday on Ole Miss' final drive.

Most worserest. Check yourself.

Negative. JD had to be Superman to win games 48-45. A good D and the games are much lower scoring and less is asked of JD

That 2023 defense was historically bad.
This offense is below average.
This defense is just okay.
This is a 3 loss team...
Can't spell Kellly without 3 L's. It's baked in.

I get it and I laughed. It’s kind of a funny indictment on how “challenged” this offense and staff are. We’re very dumbed down and the o linemen still have trouble with 6th grade level D line movement. I think that’s when we learned what a stunt was. I can see Joe Sloan wearing a dunce cap.

Same.
I’ll say 2023 defense wins this one though. Worst I’ve seen since Lou Tepper days. Cost LSU a run at a championship with that offense.

Read my post, retard. 2023 is the same as 2019 if the defense is better in 2023. Did Joe Burrow have ample opportunities to prove himself and win the Heisman in 2019? Yes, obviously

Ding ding ding!! You are correct.
I successfully made some of the autistic posters on here expose themselves by freaking out about an extra letter on one word and not being able to move past it mentally.

Statistically the Bo Pelini year of 2020 was the worst defense in LSU football history, yielding 169 yds/gm rushing and 323 yds/GM passing for a stomach-churning 492 yds/gm average. That defense was scary, and the offense, led by TJ Finley and Max Johnson after Myles Brennan's injury, wasn't any great shakes either.

I am thankful we didn't have both of them in the same year.

The 23 defense and it’s really not close.
The defense was limited across the board and completely devoid of talent and depth in the back end. Even when changes were made to simplify the scheme, it still didn’t work because we just didn’t have enough talent and the portal additions didn’t work out.
The 25 offense is struggling for all kinds of reasons, but the overall talent level is there to get better.
