Why is he not getting on the field for one of the worst teams in any league? This team lost to ull by 71.

Its a lot more than talent issues if he cant get on the field for Texas Southern. He must just not want to play football.

Maybe, but the dude was a belitnikoff finalist at a P5 school. His career has been pretty weird.

Little bit feel bad for the guy and the direction his career has gone. Never heard anything negative off the field about him has anyone else?

Crazy how the staff use to force him in the rotation when he obviously wasn't good enough. I wish they had that same mentality with Emery this season.

Giles’ story is one of the strangest ones I’ve seen and read in all my years of watching college football.

He scores 3 TDs in spare time as a true freshman.

He then catches 70 passes for 1200 yards and 13 TDs as a sophomore.

Then his OC tells him:
quote:

Giles said he and Tech’s Morris “butted heads” during his final season in Lubbock, and the deterioration of their relationship ultimately led to him transferring. “If I had a big game and I’d get the game ball, he’d tell me stuff like, ‘You didn’t deserve it,’” Giles said. “At first, I didn’t take it to heart, and then I was just thinking about stuff like that, and it was just like, ‘Well, maybe there’s something wrong here.’”

So he transfers to LSU. He says everything is great. The coaches love him.

And he does nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Coaches challenge him. Nothing.

Transfers to Texas Southern.

Can’t get on field.

Strange.

I can only guess that his confidence is shattered and he is overwhelmingly discouraged. He may not believe in himself anymore.

His issue isn't talent. He played Timid and obviously is having some other issues. He looked scared in games.

69 Receptions
1158 Yards
13 TD

His stats in 2016 with Texas Tech. Yes I know they have a pass happy offense and he had Mahomes throwing him the ball. But either way those are some good stats.

Giles is an interesting case.

he also isn't in an offense run by kliff kingsbury being thrown to by pat mahomes. those 2 variables make a HUGE difference

Giles is actually a perfect counterpoint to people who criticize KK at TTech. that's the level of talent he had to work with and he STILL made them look incredible

Uhh, you just used an example of generational talent at Qb to disparage Giles, and in the same breath claim KK MADE them look incredible? That’s silly.
