re: What's the chance LSU brings a transfer QB in next year like they did Burrow?

There's no doubt in my mind that we will explore those options should they present themselves

Myles Brennan will be in year 4 next year, he’s starting.
If he does t improve significantly we better find someone in the transfer portal.

Kyler Murray: 64% completions, 607 yards, 7 TDs, 1 INT
Baker Mayfield: 84% completions, 702 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INT
Sam Bradford: 77% completions, 581 yards, 7 TDs, 2 INTs
Meanwhile
Joe Burrow 84% completions, 749 yards, 9 TDs, 1 INT

We're going to need NASA to keep tabs on Jalen Hurts' numbers this year. The Oklahoma QB had another 300 yards of offense and three touchdowns and barely saw the field in the second half against South Dakota. Through two games, Hurts has completed 83% of his throws and totaled 814 yards, nine TDs and no picks. Compare that to Oklahoma's past three Heisman winners through two games:

I sorta think the transfer portal is the new reality for acquiring quarter backs. I mean if they're going to leave unless they are immediately allowed to start as true freshmen then so be it.

Would we have a spot. With the new rules of 25 including transfers this will be a tough year for us to do this. We already are at a spot where we are going to have to dump guys we have committed to get all the guys we have a chance at. We would have to sign less then 25 to have a spot for a transfer. There may be a way to get around but it isn’t simple

LSU will be a very strongly looked at by high school QB recruits. We will definitely get interest from top-tier QBs. With Brennan and Parish, I’d rather we not go the portal route.

They need to see if they can flip that Ugalelei kid from California. I think it's a long shot that we hit on two transfers in a row.

Would Brennan do better if the 3 top WR and starting O line stayed in the game to help. We haven't seen that happen yet. So his potential hasn't been really tested yet.

O keeps saying he doesn't check the transfer portal. I bet he checks it after Burrow leaves.

Not if we sign the 23 committed + 2 more

Curious why some are downvoting!
Probably MB et al.

That's what you expect any coach to say when he's got several QB's committed. Remember the mutiny when Coach O signed Burrow?

Brennan missed easy throws. Throws any QB can make.

Guarantee you, there are QB's all across the country paying close attention to LSU right now. Who wouldn't? Just curious how LSU is handling all of this instant fame regarding their spread offense. Does anyone know? I'll probably have to ask Hanny about LSU's possibilities of getting one in the transfer portal.
I'm on the fence on this since we have Brennan and some good recruits that we should develop. If we become a destination for transfers then our ability to recruit well at this position could be challenging. If on the other hand the recruits don't develop, then hell yes bring in another Burrow.

Keep an eye on Justin Rogers. Parkway kid that committed to TCU. Remember he had a brutal knee injury that he rehabbed from most of his redshirt season in 2018. Apparently hes still not quite 100% and TCU has a highly recruited true freshman that's splitting reps with a transfer from K-State.
Rogers may have been by passed by a younger QB and might look to move on after having already used his red shirt.

Don’t think it will happen.
Brennan has really paid his dues for his opportunity.

We will have Brennan, Parrish, Finley, and Johnson as of right now. Surely we can develop a QB.
Coach O knows we have to do that. If we can't do it in-house he will bring someone in that can. From what I've seen, Joe Brady is doing a great job with Joe.

just read a snippet on Jalen Hurts on ESPN. I never thought the guy was that great of a QB but he is tearing it up at Oklahoma.
it’s why i always said Miles’ issue wasn’t recruiting QBs, it was developing.
Id hear people say “if he had recruited Dak Prescott, we would have won a title”
but honestly if he’s come here, Prescott would have looked like JJ, Jennings, Harris, etc.
