Brennan has really paid his dues for his opportunity.

True for the old LSU/CLM era. False premise in the new order. Dues not enough anymore. skill set minus Leadership Take Charge quotient lacking in Brennan.

We will have Brennan, Parrish, Finley, and Johnson as of right now. Surely we can develop a QB.

I’m worried about Myles. His mental makeup is so shaky. He’s hyper in the pocket. Someone in his 3rd year shouldn’t still be so uncomfortable. As soon as he feels a lick of pressure, he spazzes out and throws it wildly. Pocket presence isn’t really something you can teach. He reminds me of Jarrett Lee.

It’s something that comes with experience. Myles will be our starter next year, and he will be very good.

So what you are saying is, why doesn't LSU bring in someone who is basically the Myles Brennan of another school. Another way to look at it, isn't Brennan the equivalent of Joe Burrow when he was at Ohio State? A player who had yet to crack the starting lineup after 3 years at the school he originally signed with.

Perhaps Myles Brennan will be as good as Burrow is when he is in his fifth year.

Id hear people say “if he had recruited Dak Prescott, we would have won a title” but honestly if he’s come here, Prescott would have looked like JJ, Jennings, Harris, etc.

At the end of the day, Prescott was a better QB than those guys. For all the credit people want to give Mullen, he’s really not that great at “developing” QB’s. He’s good at getting the most out of his QB’s strength. He didn’t develop the QB’s he had at MSU before Prescott. He won with Tebow and Fitzgerald because his play calling was catered to their running ability. Those guys certainly weren’t developed to play in the NFL. I guarantee you that Joe Burrow’s passing stats this year will blow away Tebow’s passing stats in his Heisman season.

Jack Sears - finished higher than Narcisse and Brennan the same year in the Elite 11. He went to USC and has entered the portal.

I think it depends how quickly Parish picks up the offense.
If he can handle the offense then we probably won't need another QB. We don't want a true freshman as our second team QB.

Both high school players and college players. There will be a five star high schooler or two reconsider And yes a grad transfer or two.

Burrow played at a high level in Ohio High School. Bigger classification. Burrow was Mr Football of Ohio as a senior. Much better QB than Brennan. Burrow was developed in Urban Meyers system Miles was not. Brennan has an arm. Don’t know if he has anything else

I think there's a high probability we go after one either this year or next, especially if some really good ones get in the portal. Cant have enough competition even for Brennan...unfortunately my hopes for our 2020 commits and Parrish right now arent particularly high.

Today's desire to win trumps 'paid his dues". It's no longer about loyalty-it's all about winning. That's just a reality today's players must deal with.

Jalen Hurts paid his dues for Bama but got beat out by a better QB. Same with Kelly Bryant at Clemson.

Burrow is a fricking beast.

I hope LSU can keep finding kids like him. Not just a good quarterback, but a real leader. A guy who talks shite to other teams fans and backs it up. Just a straight baller

You mean finding transfers?

I think we found lightning in a bottle with Burrow. It's great when it happens but not a reliable source of QBs you want leading your team. We need to start developing guys if we want to be a consistent power. Great programs develop their own guys.

In no way am I trying to put down on Brennan, he may turn out fine. But you can’t deny the interests QB’s in college or high school will now have in attending LSU. That should not be ignored.
