What will be expected of the new coach’s first year?

Personally, I would like to see us at .500 in the SEC as a starting point. And if course win all the non conference games that we are supposed to win. Then we can build off of that in the second year.

Disciplined team and well prepared for every opponent win or lose. Ability to make adjustments.

Hopefully a top 10 class and a min 9 win regular season

To field a fundamentally disciplined team that looks like they lifted weights during the off season. 8 wins would be good consider the roster attrition and potential for a recruiting swings associated with a first year coach.

A winning record & not showing up to the 1st game against FSU unprepared.

With more and more hitting the transfer portal and probably some guys who should stay leaving early for the NFL, it’s looking more and more like a total rebuild.
At this point, first year I just want to see a teams that looks well coached, win the games we should win and at least be competitive in the other ones with a chance to pull an upset or 2
I’d be disappointed but not ready to panic at 7-5. Anything better than 8-4 should have us really excited about the future.

Depend on the coach and the price.
Riley or Jimbo at $12 mil per, 10 wins year one, playoffs year two. Beat Bama next year then evey other year. Top 5 classes each year.
Aranda or Napier at $8-$9 mil top 5 recruiting class, build on this years class. 8-9 wins, beat Alabama within 3 years and push for playoffs.
If you bring in Stoops or Campbell at $6-$7 mil, your looking to stop bleeding, just hold fort down and win at least 7, hold the class together and try to recruit in top 10 and raid portal. Start building from ground up. I give them 4 years. These types of coaches need time.

Y’all can say what you want today, if LSU isn’t in playoff contention this time next year, you’ll be raising hell.

offensive and defensive schemes. 50/50 on offense. not one sided.

We should be able to win 9 games next year. Won’t take a lot to fix the talent here, as long as it’s a competent coach.

Depends on...
(1) how many of our stars choose to leave and,
(2) How well our qb play is in 2022.

Nobody who is rational would expect us to be in playoff contention next year.

Cleaning up dumbasses mess. He should get a year but have them play hard and be competent.

9 wins is the floor. He can pack his shite too if we aren't there.

Certainly by the time we get to August 2022 most of this board will think we are poised for an SEC championship and a playoff berth but .500 in the SEC is reasonable.

I will always expect LSU to win 10 games, finish in the top 10 and be in a New Year's Six bowl. That was damn near doable this year if we had competent coaching even with injuries.
