I'm not upset at Brian Kelly for any of the departures. I'm upset at quitters.

As far as staff goes, most of them I didn't mind leaving or being fired, for obvious reasons. The Raymond thing made me mad. I thought he was more loyal to the program than to leave just for a slight title change that is really mostly meaningless. He's still going to be a DB's coach, first and foremost, at Florida.

And I don't need anyone to tell me "we don't need anyone who doesn't want to be here". That's not the point. Of course we don't need people who don't want to be here. But it's okay to be mad at quitters, for being quitters. Everyone is so concerned about the "melting", and feel the need to tell everyone else how to react, and where the program is going. Just let people be mad, and cool down at their own pace.

Personally, I'm numb to players leaving. It makes me mad, but at the same time, I don't dwell on it, because I just expect mass exodus every off-season, unless we're going 15-0. The transfer portal and NIL have just taken all accountability out of college sports. You're just holding onto your butt, hoping your team has enough success, so that players won't start looking for reasons to bolt.

Everyone should read this post and appreciate the truth in it but unfortunately that wont happen because we have morons on this board screaming and bitching about losing coaches and how dare Kelly run them off without even knowing what the frick they are talking about or what was really going in the athletic department. Kelly is and will get this fixed Those who can not see or accept that can frick off!

This is the reason or one of them you got Kelly for the coach. Someone like a Napier or not as seasoned, I don’t think would be able to do what is needed to clean this mess up. I agree this mess is much worse than a 5-5 record showed.

A rotten apple can spoil the bunch. Especially if that is the biggest most important apple of them all.

Honestly, I used to wonder why new coaches often do worse their first year than their predecessors last year, but are then able to turn the program around. Now seeing how CBK is going about this, I definitely could see us being worse next year, but rapidly improving in year 2 and 3 and being back to elite by year 4. I know that’s not a timeline most will like but with the know culture problems we have experienced especially the last 2 years, but much longer than that, I truely think this is what is needed to sustain success like OSU Clemson Bama etc. we have to have a better culture on our team to do right by the talent coming out of this state.

we were 3 last second losses (Bama, arkansas, and auburn) from being 9-3

Do you know what the difference is between winning and losing those 3 last second games is? Having an elite coach that can step in and win. We got outcoached, not outplayed.

And we lost those games.

Offensive line. We don't have one capable of competing next year - we better bring in some help if your scenario is to be considered plausible.

I specifically said poor coaching prevented us from winning those 3 games. Did you not read?

This. The last time I remember feeling some kind of way about players leaving was that mass exodus back in '13 & '14. Since then I've just expected players to leave as soon as they can and I'm shocked when they don't.

That's just part of life in the fast lane being a fan of a big time program. The more talent you get the more talent you lose. Such is life.

When you start a statement like, "As horribly coached as this team was," that implies the rest of your sentence was a positive towards staying in the game, not that we just got outcoached for the reason why we lost. Your foundation comment after that was an unfinished thought and I finished it for you. I can read but you cant write. No reason to get your feelings hurt.

Look how long it took for the clowns to crater the program that Saban turned over. Then look at where the program is that BK built at Cincinnati with a good coach.
BK can turn it around, hopefully win a couple of rings and when ready to retire, turn it over to a competent coach to keep it going long term.
Culture is a toxic me, me, me cesspool and with no accountability big time. But what would anybody have expected under Ogre.
