Mine was Idaho in 1998. Then We played Georgia, lost a close one, and sucked the rest of the year.

1987 LSU vs Ohio St. Ended in a tie when we blocked their FG. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Awkwardly it was the game against Utah St the weekend before 9/11. Also know as the double rainbow game.

Mid to late 90’s with my dad. Can’t remember if it was Ole Miss or Vandy we were playing. But I can still picture Herb Tyler throwing to Kevin Faulk in the flat on the right side and taking it to the house for what seemed to be 80 yards(probably only 50ish tho). I fell in love with everything LSU then and there. I remember reading through every single page of that program while inside the stadium. Great memories with my pops for sure.

I don't remember exactly, but probably my first game was sometime in 1956 or 57 with my Dad. I don't remember what game. By 1958 I was going to most of the home games.

The opener in 1997 I believe when I was 10. That Auburn loss that year still pisses me off. We ran all over them to the tune of what seemed like 10 yards per carry and yet still found a way to lose

October 15, 1977.

We lost to Kentucky 33-13 in one of their best years ever, which also landed them on probation.

Still a fond memory, though, as my grandad took me to show me in person what we had listened to on the radio for several years together. He lugged himself up to almost the very top of the bowl. This was the last year before the West upper Deck was added.

The colors and pageantry on an autumn Saturday night were mesmerizing.

Opening day 1979!
Waiting in the crowd to get in student section early. I wasn’t particularly an LSU fan at that point.
When the band came out on the field and played those first 4 notes….chills….I was instantly a fan for life. And instantly lost my voice! And then USC 2weeks later. What else can I say!

7th grade (2008). I'll never forget walking outside into the stadium, and seeing a sea of purple and gold. Instant chills back then when i was 12, and i get the same chills now.

Rescheduled game from weekend after 9/11/2001, playing Auburn for the West. Auburn stomping on the eye, pregame. Us kicking that Auburn arse, then on to Tennessee and Illinois.

The first game of my freshman year .... September 14, 1974. LSU won 42-14 I believe.

What really stands out though is the panty raid the Thursday night before. That was the last panty raid before they were banned. THAT was extremely disappointing.

I think my dad (graduate student in Chemical Enginering) brought me to my first game when I was not quite two probably. Attended games for about 5 years until we moved north. Those five years made me a lifelong Tiger fan and I returned to LSU to go to college.

The future chancellor you mentioned was Paul Murrill, who was chancellor when I started at LSU.
