Why was everybody in such a celebratory mood? It went on way too long for a 4-6 team. It got to be a bit hokey and downright foolish. They beat A&M but celebrated like they won the SEC.

Some of you must have pretty miserable lives if you can't enjoy small victories and can't even allow others to do so without ridiculing them.

They sure did! I remember the governor advocating for him to be hired too.

Someone on this board pointed out that when LSU stormed the field after the Ole Miss game, it wasn’t for beating Ole Miss; it was for changing the direction of the program. Maybe that’s what was going on at Auburn.

Spot on

The same reason we celebrated beating Florida & Texas A&M last year. You think they should've been sad about it?

This right here.

It’s embarrassing that this question was even asked. Common sense if you have any real passion for football. I’m no Auburn fan, but no matter the team, I have the capability to understand how another fan base must feel after going through what they have this year.

All the more reason to make sure we beat A&M this year and deprive them of all hope in the off-season.

ETA. Forgot about when they came out and practiced while our band was still playing at halftime and our tuba player rocked one of them.

A huge moment for Cadillac, his family, and the players that have gutted it out.

I’m with you. It was cool to see. Did you see Cadi’s energy during the game? He’s truly a leader of men. Glad he got that experience.

They beat a 3 win suck team and stayed an hour after the final whistle dancing around and swaying back and forth

It was fricking weird

Went to the game with a cute lil AU fan and had a good time. I was actually impressed that despite both teams being 3-6 it was a sellout. Cadillac inspired a lot of fans and former teammates to show up and the crowd was in it the entire game.

In AU I can park easily, get out of traffic quickly and leave things at tailgates without theft. We could learn some things from them.

Props to them, hadn’t had a lot to cheer about lately.

I thought it was extremely impressive that Jordan hare was packed like that. Tiger stadium would be half empty if we were 3-5

Do you think that LSU was always a winning program? We went to games in the 70's where the team was up and down. Also the 80's and 90's. We stayed to the end and celebrated every victory. And stood behind the team, win or lose. The stadium would rock. Spoiled and entitled generation. Stay until half time warriors.

Right! The only team that should have celebrated much yesterday was Vanderbilt who broke a 26 game losing streak in the SEC.

Auburn is normally tied with Florida for the 5th winningest record in SEC.

They expect better and have been on a down streak.

They fired their coach. They named a famous former favorite player as replacement coach.

He was excited. He had his players excited. They had the fans excited. And they won avoiding rock bottom.

College football is ment for good feelings like that!

Confused why you don’t understand.

The Auburn fans showed up to a game when there was nothing to play for. It was cold and windy. Coach Williams brought a positive vibe to a team that needed support. They got the win and some hope for their football program. Those fans deserved to cheer. The players and coaches deserved to celebrate.

It's because they are true fans, not bandwagon fans

True fans support their team, win or lose. And they don't worry about whether they look cool doing it.
I'd say, if you think it was weird, you're just not a true fan, and nothing would explain it to your satisfaction.

There were years the Saints went 4-12, and I was happy and proud to have been there for one of those 4 wins.
