Those are the exact years I was in college.

I was there 05-10 (enjoyed the 07 championship too much). It was great. Football was elite, basketball final 4, baseball championship. Not to mention flip phones, MySpace, transition to FB, free drinks at Shadys, open mic night and shoom teas at Mellow Mushroom.

Only complaint was that the nearest Taco Bell was 2 miles away at that time.

97-02 was cool. Especially since I didn’t move out of BR immediately after graduation. I continued to live the LSU life but went to work instead of school. So I had money.

07-11 was pretty good. Championships in football and baseball. Near perfect season in 11.

Greek life was still good. Tailgating was amazing.

The bars were meh but whatever.

2003-2007

I was a freshman for the 2003 season

Changed my major after two years and ended up being a fifth year senior during the 2007 season

‘05 and ‘06 seasons were incredible.

Final 4 in ‘06

Couldn’t pick a better time to witness LSU athletics

For sports and partying combined, probably 1980 to 1984 or so. Post Vietnam, pre AIDS, and LSU football played in the Orange and Sugar Bowls, while basketball made a Final four.

Purely for sports, 2003 to 2007 was my knee jerk, but then I recalled the 2005-06 Katrina academic year and that really sucked, despite the athletic success. On reconsideration I'm going 2000 to 2004. In 2000 you got a baseball Natty and basketball sweet sixteen. 2001 football won the SEC and Sugar. 2003 football won the SEC and Natty. Baseball made Omaha in 2003 and 2004. Smoke...

Sucking in football was a lot easier to live with pre-social media. But imo expectations were greatly tempered then in the early 90s, victories were crazy and losses you just got over.

I was there from 1996-2000. The baseball run was epic, the football was great in 96-97 (because we were coming out of the Hallman years) and terrible in 98-99.

I graduated before Saban coached anything. IIRC we had one really good basketball season in 99 too.

LSU was usually Princeton Review's #1 party school in the country in those days.

1995-2000.

Hard in the paint.

Still could drink for a little while legally, because the drinking age was 18 back then in 1995.

Freakin epic.

Kegs everywhere like it was nothing. The high mark was keg trucks.

And it wasn’t just Greeks, dorms and other student orgs having parties, food and drink aplenty.

86 to 90 for sure. Could still live in stadium dorms, sneak in (through open window) to the rec pool at night.

'77 - '81. We didn't give a shite about LSU sports for the most part, but the basketball team was really good. The Kamikazes and double drunk night at The Bayou were better, however,

I was there fall 72-spring 75, what I did miss was the Notre Dame game in 71 (listened to it on AFN at Wiley Barracks in Neu Ulm, Germany)

Bert Jones at QB, Daddy Dale's first year coaching...18 year old drinking age, beer in the evening in the Union...

I was there from 1970-77. I learned a great deal. It was worth it.
Sat next to Collis Temple in an economics class and Bert Jones in marketing.

03-08 got another football title in place of baseball. If you stretch it to 03-09, that’d pretty much trump all.
