I like starting on Friday. Is there any reason to start on Saturday besides having content for ESPN on Monday?

Don’t think you have to worry about this. A&M is doing what they do best get beat when it counts the most

If I had to guess, I would say E$PN would rank them like this:
1) Stanford-Texas (two “name” programs)
2) UVA-Duke (East Coast media bias)
3) FL-SC (same)
4) LSU-Kentucky (MLB draft angle)
5) Wake-AL
6) TN-USM
7) OR-ORU
8) ISU-TCU
That said, we probably get the prime time slot, as the East Coast matches will start early and the West Coast start late. I could see:
12 PM EDT: TN-USM
3:30 PM: Wake-AL
7:00 PM: LSU-KY
10:30 PM: Stanford-Texas

It helps that we have an eastern time zone team with us.

Easily wake vs bama for several reasons, stanford vs texas is also more intriguing, virginia/duke as well, and south carolina/florida

College baseball isn't prominent nationally, and ESPN will want some viewers. LSU is as close to a known commodity as it gets, and like others have noted, also has the two highest draft prospects in the field. They are going to want Skenes pitching primetime, in front of a packed Alex Box, to pique interest. It's like turning on March Madness, looking at the lineup, and saying "oh, there's Duke. I know them, they're good".
Nobody really knows Wake Forest is #1 right now, and likely the most they will talk about polls is that LSU was #1 most of the season.
Seriously, they will want Skenes striking out 12+ against a scrappy but overmatched opponent, with Crews getting some big at-bats. That will likely happen, you don't think they would waste that, do you?

I love how our offense can matchup against their Pitching. Friday night in Alex Box going to be electric!!

Not to mention you want Skenes to go as long as possible. If heat index is 95-100 with an afternoon start that will impact him significantly.
UK would be ecstatic with that.

When do we find out the schedule?

mid-majors (ORU, ISU, USM) will suffer/be relegated to less-desirable times/ networks
As predicted, all three mid-majors wind up on the U, while the rest are E$PN or E$PN2. LINK
