What sort of game does Finley need to have to get the starting spot?

I just want to start this post off with saying that I think Brennan should start when he's healthy regardless of how Finley plays, and I really hate the idea of starting a true freshman vs. Bama, but there has got to be a certain caliber of performance that would make it impossible not to start him.

What do you think? Does he just need to win? Does he need to light Auburn up? Or is it impossible for him to take the starting job?

Unless he starts looking like Burrow out there, Brennan is our guy. If the injury lingers for another month though, things could be different.

Look at the stats between Myles and Finley and then you tell me.

Unless Brennan can practice during Bama week I wouldn't start him.

I'd say something like 400yds 5 Tds you have to keep starting him. They'll say Myles needs time to heal

LSU is going to have a rough go tomorrow. To me, I would love to see Johnson run some series.

I don't see a scenario where Brennan isn't the starter when he's healthy.

Could he come in, shite the bed a couple games, and they move to Finley again? Maybe. They won't just hand Finley the reins no matter how well he does.

if he lights it in a big way up he could end up as the permanent starter. Talking like winning by about 35 points and going 28 of 35, zero or one (not his fault type) interception, with 4 or 5 passing TD's, along with a running TD (and not a QB sneak, but a nice 10 or 20 yard run for a TD). Do all that and no way you can not start him the next week.

If he has a slightly better game than he had last week then it will be hard not to start him again.

LSU would be 2-0 vs 1-2 with Brennan (though he hasn’t been the weak link). Plus, Brennan would be coming off a month on the shelf. Normally I’d say go back to your starter. But when your starter only has 3 starts himself as experience, then it might be worth a shot to ride the hot hand in a nothing to lose game

So 11/24 163 yards 1 TD 0 INT

We win 24-20 and you’d start him vs Bama? Lol these fricking guys

At a minimum, LSU would have to win against Auburn without significant running support. People can bitch about Brennan losing all they want, but I really don't think he was the problem.
The running game was not what they were saying preseason until last week.
The Defense is not better than last year as they were saying preseason. This is still true.
I hope all of the QB continue to develop and improve over time. We only have 3 Scholarship QBs after all.

at AU. Refs are the absolute worse. Nix plays better at home. Steele will have the defense ready for Finley. The LSU defense will look worse than it did against Mizzou bc Gus is really good at what he does. PSU will need to control the TOP and LOS to win. Nothing like a running QB to help with that.

I think we need a running game of Atleast 150 yards for this to take pressure off our qb where he isn’t throwing every down, at least 50 % conversion on third downs and a defense that plays upto lsu standards.
