What possible justification is there for not letting Miles coach the bowl game?

If he wasn't given the option, they were probably thinking of recruiting. If he was given the option, he may have declined.

1) If the bowl game is in Jan wouldn't the clause in his contact cost him a couple of million?
2) If LSU hires a new coach then he can recruit. Probably a few rules against having 2 HC's let alone with them recruiting

Didn't urban Meyer choose to recruit for s month instead of coaching the bowl when he signed up for osu? I think they let the interim handle it while urban hit the road recruiting for a month. Might be better than a meaningless Indy bowl.
