Only avenue to regionals is auto bid by winning SEC tournament. Actually, Southeastern has a much better chance to wind up in a regional.

Such a fun run that year. I remember just hoping that we could be effective spoilers and f up some of our rivals' run.

Would love to see something like that again....but....oy. Not a lot to work with this year.

Theres a reason why we have been loosing. Baseball is a funny game, but the better team will win the majority of the time. This isn't a good team. We lost our best pitcher and best hitter. Its just not happening.

This team needs to go home after the SEC tourney....do you really want to see LSU get blown in tournament play.

Sweep South Carolina. Win series at UGA. Win series vs. Florida. Or sweep USCe, lose series against UGA, win series against UF and win 2 in the SEC tourney. Neither are going to happen

Kentucky made it last year at 13-17 with an RPI of 36.

LSU, Bama, Vandy, Florida, and USC all made it in 2024 with a 13-17 record.

But those RPIs were 15, 28, 26, 10, and 23 (after the postseason).

LSU right now is at a 62 RPI. That is so much movement to try to get to top 30 RPI. And South Carolina won't move the needle that much with their 93 RPI.

2008: we were sitting at 6-11-1 in the SEC then went on a 23-game winning streak which included 4 straight SEC series sweeps, swept the SECT, then a regional, before losing to Cal-Irvine in G1 of the supers. In G2, one of the great all-time comebacks and then stomped the Anteaters in G3 in the last game played at the old Alex Box on our way to Omaha.

You're thinking of 2018 in the SECT and Todd Peterson. Here's a neat view of the hit. ETA: it's stuff like this makes us keep watching Tiger baseball.

Strange line of reasoning. I would much rather make an NCAA Regional and lose out to Stony Brook than not to make a regional at all and sit at home. There was no shame in losing out in a regional 4 years ago to USM in Hattiesburg. The embarrassment is not playing postseason at all.
