I'm not saying Yeskie is the problem, but the talent isn't the issue. Can you explain how we have 10 returning pitchers, but only 3-4 look as good or better than before? Yes, Evans is in a new role, but that doesn't explain his ERA going up 260% from 2.05 to 5.47. Other pitchers make that same change and do just fine. Cooper Williams went from 1.80 to 7.47. Did his talent suddenly become sub-SEC? You will always have some guys dip, but most of these guys should not be getting worse. Below is a list of the differences in their ERAs from last year to this year.
Fontenot -3.46
Rizy -0.88
Schmidt -0.56
Cowan +1.46
Noot +2.87
Evans +3.42
Benge +4.37
Guidry +4.42 (change from 2024)
Primeaux +5.14
Williams +5.67
Cowan looks the same as last year, and I think his ERA is inflated b/c of bad defense. And while the shitty defense has affected everyone's ERA to some extent, it doesn't account for the increase in walks and lack of control from the guys that returned.
The main point being that if our returning guys have regressed, it stands to reason that maybe some of the new guys aren't as bad as their stats say either. There is something wrong with this team, where everyone is simply performing below their talent level.

I don't think so, but I am hoping somehow we get in a regional anywhere.

Win 7 of the 9 SEC games.
Or win the SEC Tournament.
Or win the SEC Tournament.

2011 team swept 2, won 2/3, & lost 2/3 to go 9-3 over that stretch finishing (13-17) & still missed the postseason.
Even 13-17 seems impossible for this team
Bc Ron Polk was on the committee and politicked for us to not make it

LSU needs to go 8-0 the rest of the season
Also to the guy saying ERA is way higher this year and it’s Yeskies fault, just watch the 2 plays Dardar fumbled and you will know why the eras are up this year. Lots of missed routine plays are being called hits and causing era to be higher. Defense is an issue

Sad thing is had we just won one game in each of the last 3 series’ we’d actually be sitting above .500 in conference. We’re so far behind the 8 ball now that we need to win each of the remaining series’ and a couple in the SEC tourney.

Yeah, it's so critical to avoid sweeps. The difference of 1-2 vs. 3-0 is massive. We had game one vs UM and multiple games vs. MSU won.

I may be wrong, but I thought the AD from Mississippi State was the chairman of the selection committee that year. I didn't know Polk was involved.
