Let's say that instead of firing Les after Auburn, Joe Alleva waited until the end of the season...

We lose a few more games, but our defense looks stellar...

Would Aranda currently be our head coach?

One main difference is that I believe Dylan Moses would've been a tiger, besides that I am not too sure.

LSU beats UF in 2016 and makes the Sugar Bowl.

LSU beats MSU and Troy last year to make back to back NY6 bowls.

Reason Alleva fired miles then was because he knew miles would win remaining games minus Bama. Miles would still be the coach

Tiger fans would be saying WTF, he's still here & we're still struggling to get plays in.

It's well established that Alleva wanted Les gone, but didn't want to do it while Les had fan support.

Alleva fired Les when he did because he feared Les getting on a roll and regaining fan support. Looking at the schedule it was a good move if that was his rationale.

Les probably loses one game the remainder of the season. After winning 10 or more games in 2017 he's probably still HC today.

The only appreciable difference between a Les Miles led 2016 and the O led one we got is we would have beaten Florida

Alleva let Miles go on the spot mid-season mostly because he was afraid Les was going to go 9 - 3 or 10 - 2 in regular season and make it that much harder to fire him, and the 2 - 2 sluggish start against what ended up being two of the three best teams on our schedule that year gave him plenty of fan emotion to work with

O was truly just an interim for the 2016 season but then when he didn't get his way with the coaching search he just promoted the man

Aranda wouldn't have been a serious candidate for head coach in 2016 regardless of if we had Les or O, it's only recently that I think he has a legitimate shot at the position if he wants it. That is of course assuming O fizzles out like most expect him to. If he has a strong season we'll probably retain Coach Eau for better or for worse

We would have ended our season with a better record if O had remained coach.

If Les was never fired we'd be better off than we are today.

I personally believe that we would have finished the 16 season with a better record. We still lose to Bama, but a Miles led team would have beaten Florida.

All the other games would have gone the same way they did under o.

Agree with the first part. Might have even scored on Bama.

Troy yes; doubtful we win that game in Starkville if the refs still take away a legal TD and eject 2 defensive linemen for clean hits.

doubtful and I think LSU Florida.

Not sure what this comment is before because Les had zero impact on the defense.

No, but I don't think Zero would be either.

He goes 7-1 and wins one more game than O. Miles doesn’t lose to UF.

Then in 2017 his only loss would be to Bama and possibly makes the playoff.

I won’t concede a loss to Alabama in 2016.

Miles record against Saban in Tiger Stadium was 1-3, pulling an upset in 2010, with overtime losses in 08 and 14 and the last second loss in 12 all as huge underdogs.

It was a gift to Nick Saban and Alabama to see Ed Orgeron standing across the field instead of Les Miles. Period.

That Leonard Fournette didn’t get to face Alabama one last time with Miles as his coach was an insult and went against everything that kept him home to play in the purple and gold for our Tigers.

I won’t even disagree about MSU. But even with that loss if we beat Troy we’re 10-2 looking at another NY6 Bowl.

Beat MSU and we would have been in the CFP conversation.
