You know the perception: reliable assistant, sketchy head coach, fantastic recruiter, used to rip his shirt off.

Used to?

What good does it do to constantly criticize the coach at this point. If he wins he stays and if he loses he will be gone.

Well considering asshats such as yourself are telling us that fans should be ecstatic if LSU goes 8-4 against this schedule, no, he won’t be gone for losing.

people on this board are foaming at the mouth to be right about O. It comes thru in the negative posts. Simply saying "I want LSU to do good!!!" is does not mask anything.

saying "i support the head coach no matter who he is b/c i love LSU" is emotional thinking

saying "i support LSU and don't think this head coach can reach our program goals" is rational thinking

there is NOTHING wrong with playing the odds and making the correct rational decision an expecting failure. life is about evaluating scenarios based on data and making the right decision. if you analyze situations correctly, that will lead to progress over the long term. outliers will happen, but the long term is what matters

I just think objectively speaking this is year 2 for O. The interim crap is not his team.

not true. he was hired for continuity so that half season counts

he was not hired for a rebuild. that was a narrative created last year to defend his utter failures as a coach

quote:

I was the first joe burrow post on the recruiting board. I watched OSUs spring game and was pissed that they were stacked at qb while we struggled. When he was grant eligibility I didn’t think he’d come.

even if we have an outlier season b/c of a transfer QB, the problem is that's not how you build/sustain a program

Miles had 2013 Mett. was a useless data point given the total analysis

quote:

He has a chance this year with a difficult schedule to show me he can navigate the gauntlet that is an LSU schedule.

what does this mean, exactly?

What if Ed O is entering his prime? CBS article
Or we played a bunch of cupcakes

5 of those teams were straight up garbage.

Someone tried to pump up a shitty Florida team as “desperate.” Desperate doesn’t mean good. They suckedz

He literally has 1 impressive win since he got here

O lives off of lowered expectations.

You must be one truly miserable POS if all you do is post anti material about the team that you supposedly pull for. You & the rest of the whiners are all butt hurt who the coach is, or assistants, or something. I'm glad I don't live next door to you . I bet you manage to piss off everybody in your neighborhood with all your negative shite, or is all just about Coach O ?. Don't pull for the Tigers due to the fact your guy didn't get the coaching job, or more likely your guy couldn't HOLD ON TO THE JOb. It's time for you to get up, & go on your way to give somebody hell at work . You can start with your family, & don't forget to kick the dog on the way out.

Please provide links with your nonsensical posts.

No one is exhibiting this behavior, you just want to paint a portion of posters who disagree with you in a poor light.

No one needs to convince anyone of O’s coaching acumen. The results will speak for themselves.

So yea I would say that is saving LSU

I would say that's saving the season or saving his arse, but that's absolutely not saving LSU.

On paper, Miss State is as talented if not moreso than LSU v. Miss State

Returning Starts on Offensive: LSU: 3; State: 10
Returning Starters on Defensive: LSU: 8; State: 8

QB: State
RB: State
WR: LSU
TE: LSU
OL: State

DL: Really close. State has a stout line anchored by Jeffrey Simmons. So does LSU. Let's say Push even though most national folks would give this to State.
OLB: State (Sweat was All SEC; Chiasson is potential for now)
ILB: LSU (White is the man; but don't sleep on ALL Freshman SEC E. Thompson)
CB1: LSU
CB2: Push
S: LSU

I think that's a fair analysis. We are in much better shape defensively this season with talent and depth (minus CB). Barring injuries I think we match up defensively with anyone.

The wild card is that Miss St is a totally different team away from Starkville. Also, after last season's embarrassment I have no doubt this is a game LSU is hungry to play. We could certainly lose because MSU is a good team. This is just a game I feel we come out firing and actually win by double digits.
