I see that the OP posted his comments at 11:07 AM.
Well, about 11:00 AM over here in Lake Charles, I was told that there would be "major staff changes" in the "next couple of hours". He told me of his source but I have no name, but the relation to the LSU through the source's job is real.
So, I'll back up (for what it's worth) the OP's post.
I just got home about 10 minutes ago and jumped on TD expecting to see some news. I think it will happen.

So what’s Brian going to do about the defense which has become as bad as the offense?
And with Kelly as the head coach who has let his whole team become crap, why not just fire him. If money is the issue look at the empty stadium in the 2nd half. That will be normal with Brian in charge.

Do realize the type of contract it would take to get any of those guys away from their current jobs? You’re talking $12-13M a year on an 8-10 year guaranteed contract. Do we really want to risk being in this same situation again in 4 years if we make that kind of committment to lure a big name away from an elite program and things don’t go well, but we’re stuck with an untenable buyout?
And why would Day and Lanning leave when they’re at elite programs that have all the resources and support to win national titles, but with a far easier path to the playoffs than playing through an SEC meat grinder schedule?
