I'm wondering if everyone is out of position.

They got Vadal and Hawkins back by promising them right tackle and left tackle, respectively. Vadal may be too slow footed for tackle, and Hawkins isn't good enough for left tackle.

Pocic would be much better are guard or tackle, but they don't trust the other centers.

Why would we jump to this? The OL was a strength through 7 games. And now we think everyone is out of position? While it may not be their preferred or most natural positions, it was working, and better than almost any other team in the country.

we lined up in shoot gun and threw the ball on first down with three wr sets in Arky game. OL was blown up even with different looks.

It worked against teams who were not top SEC defenses.
I wonder if our recruiting should reflect a concern about our OL talent, as it does at LB and DL.

Gordon is a great blocking TE, but he hardly played this year other than State. I noticed when Moore went out originally LF lost a YPC on average in two games.

Yes Bama has a great run defense and Pigs aren't bad, but something has changed. Remember the media idiot that wrote the article that LF shouldn't win the Heisman because his blocking was too good.

We will not see that theory again. I don't know if the OL has some injuries or what, but something is wrong. You don't go from 310 yards rushing a game to 50 even stepping up in competition.

A lot of LF's runs now, that would've been for big gains 4 weeks ago, are simply stuffed because there is no fullback. JD Moore made this offensive line look a lot better than it really is.
The defense has no depth on the line and at games end are tired because of the failure of the offense to sustain a drive to give them rest.

The competition has got a lot tougher and the true identity is showing. Fournette was the reason for the yards not the OL. Losing the FB hurt the most.

IT is NOT THE GD competition!!!
Why don't you people understand?!?!?
You don't go from 180 ish yards/game (over 7 games) to 60 (over 2 games) unless you went from playing in the sun belt to the AFC East.
Arkansas isn't bad. but they aren't better than State or Florida..

I've never seen pass blocking like that.

I think we don't practice it enough- our lineman are too one-dimensional, they are not able to properly pass block...
But that being said, something has happened since the Bama game and the coaches better earn their money and figure out what is wrong or we lose the rest of our games!

So Florida is not tougher than an Arky team that lost to Texas Tech & Toledo??

Go back and watch Alexander on pass plays. he would start moving backwards as soon as the ball was snapped. by the time he engaged the defender he was right next to harris. And since he was moving backward the defender already had an edge when he rushed him. It was like that every play! I've never seen pass blocking like that.

Go back and watch the bowl game against Clemson when Vadal was playing RT. He was getting beat badly in that game and he has been getting beat badly in our last two. His footwork is not good enough to be a Tackle. He needs to be moved back in to RG, but I don't know if we have any better options for RT.

A bit late to be doing a major line shuffle, but perhaps they should have had Clapp or Dodd at Center, Vadal at RG, and Pocic at RT?

They have definitely crumbled in the last two games.

How do they respond Saturday

To me Hawkins looked very hurt and was left out there way too long. Arkansas was sending speed guys around our huge tackles and we did nothing to counter them. Les Miles seems to always play a limited group on the line.

Haven't read other responses but my answer is we haven't been that good at pass protection all year. We bullied lesser teams but we aren't winning individual assignments against good SEC D linemen. Look for Ole Miss' #5 to dominate this Saturday.

The O line is the same. It is that now all know the truth. They are not good at what they do.

Both Bama and Arky used 5 down linemen. Apparently that has confused and overwhelmed our O-line.

I noticed that too. The pocket collapsed on Harris even before anyone was engaging. They need to make the pocket bigger. They are way too passive.

Also, any coincidence these last two teams weren't putting 8-9 in the box on every play? Fournette was making his living picking up small gains and then busting one or two long ones per game. With defenses sitting back, he is not busting those long runs. However, if you watch that game last night, Arkansas busted long runs when we had everyone up on the line and getting caught in traffic.
