I am so tired of watching LSU's stagnant offense. Outside of Mett's senior year, it's been like this since the 2008 season.

The schemed depended too much on essentially an extra TE in Gordon and the FB, Moore. Mouton is learning and not Moore. The drop off with blocking at the TE position after Gordon is steep. That and predictable formations. If you are so darn good and you don't care if you tip the opposing D on what you are going to do then fine.

The first 7 weeks we were playing so very good and we out talented the opposition. Then we met the best DL in the country and a Arky line that has vastly improved since the start of the season. Once we get past our starters on the line the drop off is more significant than most of us thought.

In addition, there are weaknesses in Hawkins' and Pocic's play (specifically how they handle aggressive pass rushing technique) that opposing D's figured out on film and exploited. The alarming thing is that our coaches did not see them until they were revealed in field of play. Unfortunately, sometimes that has to happen before an adjustment is made. But, when your depth is limited due to lack of experience behind the starters or drop off in talent there is not much to adjust with.

You mean since 2009. Offense was not stagnant in 2008. It scored points and put out yards. It was Pick 6 parade and a mediocre D that brought about a 7-5 regular season record.

Gordon played 1 and a half games this year. Success of the run game was not due to Gordon.

The answer is #2. They are not very talented in addition to being poorly coached.

5-4 Arkansas with the 14th ranked defense in the sec? No we didn't start playing better teams.

IT is NOT THE GD competition!!!

OK. Sooooo...what is it? I say the competition has exposed a faux offensive line. They got thrown around like wrestling dummies. They are awful. Nothing more to say about it.

LSU had the best offense in the sec until the Bama game. That didn't hold true in any of the previous seasons, the offense was bad from start to finish. This is totally diff.

If you've been watching closely, the line gets worse every week it seems. This is Grimes and his zone blocking scheme. He was the wrong hire and its cost us to the tune of two of the worst oline performances I've ever seen at LSU.

My vote is they were vastly overrated

We should be used to that. Hear every year how good the line will be then we see a keystone cops performance piece.

Success in the run game is never due to one player.

Even when the situation is portrayed as such, as sometimes is the case with great RBs, that is a misconception.

It is a collective effort.

Dillon Gordon could have been very helpful against Alabama in blocking their LBs, but there were still other issues across the offensive line and at other positions.

So you going to tell me the competition did not drop off since Western Kentucky and Eastern Michigan? So the OL just forgot how to all of a suddenly block people? The FB being hurt is the biggest problem. That's when the rushing has declined. Pretty obvious when you run out of the I formation and your best lead blocker is hurt. Hurt LSU so bad Miles has to change up the offense. Do you understand blocking schemes when you run power, base and belly?

Why the frick can't a coach in 2015, who has 4/5 star talent make adjustments when your 1967 I formation isn't working without your FB? This is where great coaches separate from good coaches!!!

If they were that important to that scheme then you have no choice but to change your scheme.

Good luck with that in college midseason.

If that is the case, which I do not believe is the overriding factor, then Miles should know how many starting FBs have gotten hurt the past 5 years and had solid backups. I do not recall a single FB to make it through a season without missing multiple games.

I think that has a lot to do with it. More physical teams, for sure.

Also, our defense doesn't get the ball back as quick as they have in previous years, so we don't keep the other team's defense on the field as much as we would like.

The lack of offense last night is mystifying. Arkansas should have been a high scoring game from more than one side.

I still don't understand why our offense that is sucking has nothing to do with our coaches. It is there job to recruit and coach them up. If they ain't getting done, then bench the players. Every year seems to be a rebuilding year.
