Hoping that the proverbial train wreck can be avoided, but sometimes feeling like it is inevitable.
Ed has mountains to climb
Lets just do it 1 game at a time
Things went south early in his first season so it played into the failure mind-sets of many
We win our first 3 games this year and all that changes and it will not seem to be "inevitable"
that Ed will fail.

What does O need to do for respect?
Win games and win in a convincing fashion with a powerful entertaining offense.
Les Miles was not fired solely on his won loss record, the dismal offense along with close wins and a very conservative 1970's offense led to alumni, administration and fan revolt.
If Les had continued to win 10 regular season games a year with the offense he was running then he would still be the head coach but losing 4 games a year and 8-4 seasons just did not cut it.
LSU finishing this regular season 8-4 with the 8 wins being convincing and 4 loses that are decided late in the game with a very good recruiting class in the horizon will give fans hope and he will keep his job
Close wins and blow out loses even with 8 wins will put him in the hot seat.
Turning the program around filling the holes in recruiting mainly the offensive line and QB will go a along way. The LSU football program won games this decade mainly due to elite skilled position players at CB, RB, WR and edge rushers. All the other position year to year had holes and voids with QB position being the worst followed by offensive line and depth at linebacker.
It will be an interesting year and hopefully entertaining

Raise Big Lee from the grave.

That is ridiculous. Build the roster and win games is what he needs to do. O took over a team and a roster that had fallen back outside of the top tier programs. He appears to have rebuilt the roster
We play in the toughest division in the power 5. No matter who the coach is we have to beat Auburn and Bama. Since 2013 we have not had the personnel to beat Bama. Now,on appear we appear so. We have fallen short in swagger and confidence and success. We are not as experienced as Bama or Auburn. We only have 12 seniors.
The schedule is very difficult. The 3 home 5 SEC road games courtesy of Alleva and the SEC commish is a mountain not many could climb.
Tie or win the West. Everything else will fall in place after that. I do not think that will happen in 2018. 6 SEC wins and 10 overall would be huge. More likely 5and 9 this year which would still be very very good.
Just like Trump there is nothing O can do to appease the haters.

We have been through the train wreck. It was October/November of 2015. We were getting physically beaten. We had an awful offense. We were second best on the line of scrimmage against anyone good. O has brought us back from that brink of a death spiral. This years schedule presents a challenge like 2011. It will get played out on the field.

You people are fricking stupid. The thing I hate most about O is that he’s made it safe for the fricking swamp trash, retarded portion of our fan base to openly display their stupidity without fear of mockery.

To build up his stature, O needs to have a good off season, and build on what he's done since he retooled his staff.
In Fall camp things need to go smoothly. We need to hear about an improved passing attack with the QB making throws and WRs stepping it up.
Once the season begins we need to see improved play especially on O beginning with the passing game. Thinks need to be tight, coaching needs to be obvious and win or lose LSU needs to be sound.
The record needs to improve, but our schedule is a beast. Simply looking at the record isn't enough. Looking at how we played is important.

Coaches, coach and the players have to execute on the field. Just about every loss LSU has taken can be summed up with player execution. Both coach Miles & CEO have put their teams in positions to be successful only to have a player drop a pass, throw a pic, fumble or miss a FG.
I’ve had this same commentary on here before I gotten bashed by several O haters for it.
Ricky daddy comes to mind.
Its absolutely the players responsibility to execute what they cover on practice.
Kickers
WRs
QBs
Rbs
Defense
Execute the play call you generally have success.
Don’t? You lose.
Very simple. Especially at this level of play.

This is how I know you care more about O than LSU. It’s so ducking obvious what he has to do to get respect. Win a respectable amount of games. Live up to the same expectations we had of Les.
9 games isn’t a very very good season for LSU. It’s just a good season for O

And you're not exaggerating, sadly this is the truth. Our fans are a bunch of babies.
No moron, that post was ultimate hyperbole. Some of you folks act like O is being held to some impossible standard by fans, when in reality he’s only being held to the standards he set for himself while running his campaign....or he could you know not get embarrassed by Miss St, Troy, bitch out in an exhibition game, piss away millions because he can’t get along with his OC, then replace him with his bestie...
O simply does not have the skins on the wall for him to get the benefit of the doubt during his struggles. He has to earn that.

win....maybe look like a SEC caliber team doing it
Posted on 6/13/18 at 8:09 am to Tommy Patel
To be better than Miles was at the end of his career he needs to be capable of beating Bama. Doing that results in SEC and National Title contention.
Posted on 6/13/18 at 8:09 am to OKTGR580
Stability and elevate the program. Fair or not because few can do it, he has to beat Saban. When Bama is at their best. He doesn’t have to beat them every year but he needs to put some skins on the wall. LSU is the game for Alabama not Auburn. The LSU game consistently sets them up for a championship. If he can knock off Alabama a few times and wreck their season. People will respect him.
