What does “complimentary football” really mean other than one side of the ball sucks

And the other side needs to compensate for it?
No other too coach is talking about that. They are focusing on how to control the game from both sides as best they can with the personnel they have.

Complimentary football is when both sides help each other. Neither side sucks.

This is what playing “complimentary football” means. It’s just another way of saying have a well balanced football team.

Our scoring offense disagrees.
And yes that’s what it’s supposed to mean. But no other too coach harps on that. Because they are working to make both parts good. You focus on complimentary when one is a weakness and you have to help hide the weakness.
Tennessees offense does its thing no matter what because that’s what makes it good. Even.

It’s just another example of BK being a douche monger. In theory he is correct, but he will never get it done. He needs to gooooooo

Are you this clueless?
I seem to recall Saban used to use the term quite a bit. BK is mentioning it because the offense is not holding up its end of the deal. Much like the defense didn't in 2023.

The funny part about this expression is that just two weeks ago after Florida, he was basically saying in post game that the plan all along was to flip the field and lean on defense which isn’t exactly complimentary.

Then why does BK keep saying we need to play complimentary football? Our offense SUCKS therefore how can they possibly compliment the defense?
What he really should say is that the defense needs to continue to carry the offense and may need to do MORE of the heavy lifting.

We all know what that means and it's true, but he uses it as a general statement to avoid having to discuss the detailed facts about the oline, Nuss and Sloan.

I tsje it to mean that all phases need to pick each other up.
For instance if the D just gave up a long drive, the O needs to come out and control the ball and enable the D to rest.
Or the O is not moving the ball, the STs need to be good and flip the field; or the D needs to stop the opponent cold.
Good teams are good in all three phases, but they aren’t good all game. One phase needs to help the other phases to facilitate a win.

Mumbo jumbo. When you don’t have a valid explanation.

I never said our offense doesn't suck. I was explaining to you what complimentary football is, since your post makes you seem confused.

It means exactly what he has been saying about the Offense.
Sloan is doing exactly what he is asked to do.
BK slows the O down and goes conservative at times.
BK will intentionally shut it down and punt so that the D can end the game.

Don’t constantly go three and out on offense and putting pressure on your defense.
Get off the field on third down fairly consistently and stop putting all the pressure on your offense

The offense in LSU’s case is defamatory.

Dabo just talked about complimentary football on espn

It means:
- defense creates turnovers, putting your offensive in opportunistic positions
- offense taking advantage of those opportunities
- when your defens3 has been on the field a good bit, offense being able to run the ball and sustain drives to give the defense a rest
- when the defense is balling out, explosive plays on offense can keep that excitement level up
- when the offense is balling out, key stops on defense can keep the energy level up
- at all times, speacisl teams doing their job by not putting offense or defense in a hole

Just because BK is full of shite doesn’t mean the definition of complimentary football has changed. We have not played complimentary football since Kelly had been here.

IT’S COMPLEMENTARY
Complimentary football would be like “oh hey nice pass” “hey thanks nice catch”
