MLB scouting report on Chad Jones:

Hittability is a litte below average with a swing that sometimes can be a little stiff.

Also a pitcher, Jones' outfield arm grades out as average.

His range is average or a tick above average

Jones is a little raw. His overall instincts on the diamond are a touch below average.

His baseball skills are still quite raw. He's played a lot of baseball -- including in some showcases -- but his overall approach (discipline, patience) needs refinement. With a slightly stiff swing, he pulls off the ball at times.

Not exactly what you might expect from a supposed quality ball player.

Dude, no one said he was gonna come in and be some star. Show me the scouting report on your boy Gaudet. Thats what this thread was originally about. That and how wrong you were about Chad never seeing the field again.

I said he would never see the batters box...not the playing field, although I was surprised like everyone else to see him pitch. No one expected that. But a few more innings as a pitcher should reveal his weaknesses and inexperience.

...playing filed? Ok, so he has pitched less than 2 innings. How many HR's or PO's would Gaudet have made by now? But the most important thing would have been his leadership, IMO. And, speaking of leadership, what message did the head coach send to his team by cutting a valued upper class man? Small decisions like this are the difference between a National Championship team and a runner up.

how much leadership are you expecting from a JUCO transfer who played in 21 games?

What do you do with Chad Jones now?

My suggestion is Trent Johnson finds out if he can hit a 3 pointer, then we'll send him to the track team and see what comes of that.

Dude seriously support the team and the players that are on it. Why compare a person thats not even on the team and no trying to win us a title to somebody that is and is actually contributing???

Uhhhh, check that. Major brain fart on my part. He pitched in relief, not batted. I have no idea where that thought came from. I guess I picked a bad day to give up sniffing glue...

Hmmm..... Maybe Coach Manieri knew what he was doing afterall.... Plus Gaudet will be back next year to help out the Tigers (assuming he is healthy again)
