Yes, Charley Mac for me as well. My freshman year at LSU was '74.

Dietzel, '58 team won a NC. Still remember Cannon's run against Ole Miss.

Cholly Mac

Cholly Mac for me as well. My first game at Tiger Stadium was in 1966 against Texas A&M, a 7-7 tie. I was 9 years old. After that, I either listened to every LSU game on the radio, watched on TV or attended in person...
Of course, it helped to have a Dad that was an LSU fanatic since the 30's and was buried with his LSU cap on at age 95 in 2017.
But back to old Cholly Mac, yes, he had some good years, was always known as a good defensive coach. Toward his end years at LSU, the team was no longer a Top 10 threat, we were becoming middle of the pack. And of course, don't forget every year losses to Bear Bryant as well...

Curly was the coach for my first LSU game vs Miss St in 1994 but I followed faithfully in 1995 for Dinardo’s first year.
