Me too.

Charles "I can't beat Alabama" McClendon.

When I was in Elementary school, I'd send him letters and he'd always respond saying that he put my letter up on the Bulletin Board for the Tigers to read. (I always wrote good letters)

He was only one I believe to take 2 in a row (69-70) was at 69 game in 8th grade! But yes was his downfall and a few OM downers.

I think that was the single biggest thing that frustrated fans, he was a really good man and a pretty good coach, have to look it up but something like a 76% winning percentage, with untold moral victories

Stovall. My dad's only interest in sports was a seething hatred of Muhammed Ali. Then when I was 10 my oldest sister married a guy who had played baseball at LSU in the 1970s. He got all the old Tigervision offerings and threw big, rowdy BBQs. I attended NLU, LaTech, and Western Car. before eventually graduating from ULM. I never went there but LSU football was my first team to follow.

Florida game mesmerized my 9 year old brain

Remember I wanted to root for Florida and my dad said if I did he'd put me out
