He’ll be fired. I don’t know where this idea that Woody keeps coaches too long came from. He will absolutely pull the plug if we don’t make the tournament.

All we can hope for is that we encourage him to leave for another opening. It worked out with Trent Johnson.

If he only wins 2-3 games I'd give it 25%. If he wins 7-10 I'd give it 0%.

If McMahon had any honor he would resign and refuse any buyout money. Anyone of us who performed as badly at our job would be shown the street without a dime.

Depends on if the big boosters call for it.

Where did you get $6.1M at? His contract buyout language says he would be owed 80% of the remaining balance of his contract. After this year, he would have $12.2M total remaining. 80% of that is $9.76M.

If it's 9.76m then it's zero chance.

I really need to figure out how I can convince a large university to give me a guaranteed contract so I can fail upward, personal goal l’m setting for myself.

IMO, CMM will get 4 full seasons, through 25-26. If we show marked improvement in 25-26, he'll get another year.

With 3 years left of his 7 years, we would owe him 80% of $7.5 million I think

I think the chances are slim unless the bottom really falls out.

$6.1 million buyout a steep number?
That is peanuts compared to the football coach and many on here wanted to write that check as though they were members of Congress.

It’s still too early to hear any rumblings about canning him from the boosters. However, if they continue to play like this and end up with only 2 or 3 SEC wins
they will find the money to buy him out.

Boosters have helped him sign some decent classes which costs them money. They don’t want to keep that bankroll going if it’s obvious he can’t coach these players up.

Sometimes these buyouts are negotiated...especially if the coach believes he can continue coaching elsewhere which of course he couldn't until the contract expires. I think there is a good chance this is his last season at LSU if he barely wins any SEC games. At that point offer him a negotiated settlement and say he won't be restricted in coaching.

Of course, the delusional part of this might be "if the coach believe he can continue coaching elsewhere". Anyone here have any experience pretending to be an AD at Power 5 conference university....just asking.

We are legit looking at only 2-3 wins in the SEC this year at most

We heard this last year too.
