Would think Coleman could be one of the starters if he’s healthy

Ben McDonald
Aaron Nola
Mike Sirotka

Anything less and it’ll be “muh no pitching talent” again

We will have to see how Coleman recovers. Otherwise it will be all transfers or freshman. There are zero sec weekend starter this season including Hilliard. None

I’m with everyone else, I don’t see a weekend starter on the roster. I think next years success, or lack thereof, will be determined by transfers.

Floyd has a ton of potential and was developing some decent off speed pitches as the season progressed. Dutton and Taylor also have a lot of potential that needs to be developed. We definitely need an experienced number 1 starter which would have to come in through the transfer portal.

We will find the arms. The rotation was tough this year but Coach will improve this team in every way next year although keeping our hitting at this high a level will be a challenge too.

Floyd has no feel for his off speed pitches and gets flat after a few innings. He isn’t a weekend starter without a great off season.
Those others you named are not close to SEC WEEKEND starters ie 7 innings consistently.

Those top 4 for Southern Miss are SEC caliber starters.

Were any of those 4 guys for Southern Miss true freshman?

I just looked up Tanner Hall and he pitched in 18 games and had a 5 ERA last year as a true freshman. I guess he didn’t have potential to get better though.

Very few guys (even Friday night guys) give you 7 innings consistently.

Just for reference, Alex Lange in his last season averaged 6.1 innings per start.

Hopefully 2-3 of the incoming freshman can be dudes. I bet there will be a few transfers as well. I expect the pitching staff to look much different next year.

Are you saying Hilliard isn’t an SEC quality starting pitcher? That’s idiotic if so.

Coleman, lansville, floyd are all options, hopefully a freshmen finds his way.

Im very comfortable with floyd though.

Hall had that change WORKING towards the end of the year if you watched their games like I did in the regionals.

I still want to know what happened to Money for him to go from our Friday night guy to only pitching 1 inning in the regional. He went 6.2 against Oklahoma only giving up 1 earned run. He went from being a really good starter to end of the bench bullpen guy in a short time. Can he regain his form from the start of the season?

It wasnt that great or timely, broseph. The bottom half lacks all discipline.
