Floyd has no feel for his off speed pitches and gets flat after a few innings.

I don’t mean for this to come across in a dickhead way, but I would recommend going back and watching his performance on Saturday. Possibly the best of his career. He was throwing all 3 pitches in all counts and was actually keeping batters off balance at times. Honestly, his last 4 appearances going back to Ole Miss were pretty damn good.

With that being said, you are absolutely correct that he still needs work on them. Obviously there is room for improvement, but the stuff itself has a lot of life. Personally, I think the biggest area that he needs to refine is the control of those pitches.

I truly feel like he has the best chance of turning in to a Friday/Saturday guy of anyone on the roster, at least from what we’ve seen. Money could be good with a lot of work and of course there’s Coleman, but how he recovers is a big question mark.

Freshman commit from Barbe HS
#1 prospect in the state, hopefully they can develop him to SEC caliber

I would think it would take considerable NIL money to get Guidry in an LSU uniform. Those stats are huge and he is playing the best competition. Please don’t compare any kid with similar stats from a lower classification to this young man as he is beating teams that play at a high level and many of which, including Barbe, who have a third string that could beat state champions in smaller classifications. He is the real deal not a shot in the dark.

I think next years success, or lack thereof, will be determined by transfers.

CJJ and Woodward need to have their plan ready, with NIL at the forefront. Get the transfer SP and BP arms, and an impactful position player if possible. Lockdown the incoming recruiting class.

LSU also better be ready - I hate to say it - but teams like TAM (like they tried with Boutte in FB) will come after Crews. NOT saying he would take it, but they better be prepared to deal with it. Sadly, it's the world we now live in with college sports...

Josh, is it you or ell who had TJ surgery?

Just wondering what the recovery is like, I know it’s case by case recovery, just overall.

Wonder if we need to hold off on counting on Coleman next year or not.

There is a legitimate chance 2 of the 3 are not on the roster yet.

I do think Floyd is going to be one and will probably be the starter opening night.

I would like for them to give Reyzelman a road map to be our Friday night starter. He'll put in the work to get there if given the road map. Not many paid attention to it, but he was extended last summer, so he has starter conditioning...he just wasn't asked to stick with it when he got here. He also has a really good breaking ball and changeup that we just threw away - I'm sure he could fine tune those again.

I really liked Floyd at the end of the season. And, I think he has more in the tank. With the right guidance, he could be a Fri/Sat guy.

Aside from those 2, guys will have to get alot better to be more than a Sunday or weekday guy. And, that's possible.

We have a few arms coming in that could factor into the conversation. I don't think Jay's done looking, either.

Its ell, just ask him, he’ll tell you all about it. Ive never pitched in my life, not my specialty. But we have seen guys come back from TJ a year later. Some successful, some it takes another year. Was it even confirmed he had TJ?

Floyd is hands down the best pitcher on staff low to mid nineties fastball with tons of movement. If he paints corners and don’t have a retard ump like yesterday a little development on his changeup with sink to it and he will be untouchable. I have faith he will put on the work

Just for reference, Alex Lange in his last season averaged 6.1 innings per start.
Alex Lange was different his freshman year versus his next 2. He regressed OR people figured out how to lay off the splitter.

Look at his potion and grip. He may improve and prove to be a Sat/Sun guy. Im not sure he can go 6/7 innings with command. That’s what I mean by SEC caliber pitchers. Guys that put up zeros/1 for 6-7 innings every time out. That’s a Friday guy. Wi the the live bats and balls today versus when Nola pitched, that is hard to do. You heard Jay talk about the number 3 starter for So Miss in Saturday’s presser after the win. He said that he was up there with the kid from Tenn.
they had 2 better pitchers and one not far behind him on that staff as starters.
