Anyone who still believes this isn’t from the urging of Jay Johnson is an absolute moron at this point.

TV first and foremost. He isn’t “urging anything”.

It rained for about 15 minutes. Now I’m sipping on a cocktail and boiling shrimp. I’m not even mad. It’s just ridiculous how you can’t play a fricking baseball game if someone farts 200 miles away.

Blame it on the Donald and Elon. They fired everyone that has any idea how to interpret NOAA radar screens.

Every ball park is different. Traction, down the road, has some sensitive lighting detectors as well.

It’s the 21st century and anyone can look up a lightning mapper online. No lightning has been detected in the 8 mile radius from the Box.

This is what they announce when there is a lighting delay.

What they have announced today is a Jay special, aka “it might rain after the game starts so we aren’t starting.”

The on site NCAA rep makes the call.

The regional site rep got motherfricked by the DBU and RI AD’s. They were uber pissed about the delay affecting them having to play doubles on Saturday. I know someone that witnessed it. He said it was glorious.

For those of us who live this shite all the time we know this is the truth.

All of the people saying it's NCAA and lighting (in weather delay) have no idea what they are talking about yet they come in here like they know wtf they are talking about and argue.

Weird shite.

Your basic late afternoon summer shower pattern, as it starts to cool the 99% humidity will turn into clouds, then rain.
Anyone who lives here knows that's what happens.

The good news is LSU is undefeated in postseason games where West Coast Jay delays the game for clouds.

I’m not there but it sounds like the delay was because of the cell that came through earlier. That delayed batting practice, warmups, and pregame field prep.

Would’ve been around the time things get started.

Which is likely what happened and JJ is erring on the side of caution. I have no problem with it

Jay Johnson is the softest coach in America. The idea of a slight drizzle and he wets himself

Cry less! I'd rather have a delay, have the boys play in cooler conditions, and eyanson not get his start interrupted by rain, and then ruin his start.

Batting practice was on going when the delay was announced. Why is baseball the only sport that has to have "practice" before every game? Warm ups are necessary. Practice isn't.
