Replacing top coordinators isn't easy, but as long as we've got Brady and Aranda, I like our chances eat Saturday.

The "search" was still a shite show.

Agreed. I’m warming up to O as head coach, but it will forever be unforgivable as to how it occurred. At least that cancer Alleva is no longer infecting us.

Would still take Hernan but huge huge props to O for being self aware and making changes. And of course recruiting his arse off

I’ve never been a fan of the way O was hired. And I’ll admit I really wanted Herman.

Never wanted Jimbo and I’m glad that deal fell apart.

Jimbo and Herman have shown they can coach one side of the ball very well. Orgeron doesn't have that tool, but if he hires elite coordinators, he'll be okay.

If Les Miles had done this he would have retired from LSU.

O is doing much better than I expected and I’m very happy with his willingness to hire a guy like Brady and modernize the offense along with things like increasing the #of analysts. We have a great chance to have a special season this year, with a great recruiting class lined up, there’s a lot to be excited about as an LSU fan.

I think Herman is doing well at Texas, he was a lot closer to winning last night than a lot of LSU, especially the Herman haters will admit. They should still have a great season and at a minimum make the CCG and the Sugar Bowl. Next year they should be in a position to make a playoff run.

Fisher is also doing well, he is a year away from being a serious contender. Everyone with a brain knew he’d likely lose 4 games this year given he played at #1 yesterday and still has games against 2,3 and 4 and won’t hold it against him. Yesterday their D played well at times but seemed to tire. I was wondering if Mond was maybe hurt, he did not look good at all. Time will tell if he can get A&M over the hump to legit contenders I wouldn’t rule it out.

Of the 3 O took over the best situation. He has made strides to improve the areas LSU was lacking. Again a lot to be excited about and no reason to worry about coaches we didn’t hire.

Les had some good coordinators. His problem was handcuffing them, especially on the offensive side.

Head coaches’ most important job is managing the entire program, not coaching a position group. You think Bear Bryant did a lot of coaching? We’ve got the right guy.

O is finally where he has always wanted to be. He will do whatever he needs to do to win. I believe he cares more about LSU than the money. It's more than can be said for the others.

my issues with Alleva go far beyond just the coaching hire.

Yup and regardless how he does at Texas, it has nothing to with what he could have built here.

He would have been a perfect fit here IMO.

It's looking like all 3 are very good coaches.

There’s something strange/creepy about Herman.

He’s not an LSU type guy, he was never coming here and I’m glad he didn’t.

Jimbo is a douche.

Not going to lie, I wanted Herman when LSU was on the coaching search and wasn’t thrilled with O. I thought Herman has done a good job at Texas but O has won me over. If he continues to recruit and go get staff like Joe Brady I am going to be happy

My sentiments, exactly. And I will add that I did not want Jimbo under any circumstances. That guy lucked into a natty that I thought they had about a 5% chance of winning with 1 minute left in the game. Other than that he’s been dogshit.

It's much easier to manage your program when you don't have to hit on both coordinator hires. If you can lock up one side - Herman and Jimbo on offense, Saban on defense, etc - your chances for success are much better.

I think O learned after the Troy debacle when everything almost unraveled on him to let those he hires do what he brought them in to do without interfering.

It’s more than that. Last night, with 4 minutes to go and a six point lead, Orgeron asked Ensminger if we should go with a clock-eating offense. Slinger said nope, we were going to stay aggressive. A couple of minutes later Jefferson was streaking toward the end zone, recipient of one of the most amazing plays you’ll ever see a QB make, and the game was over.

There’s a couple of things to unpack from that. First, Orgeron asked; he did not command. Second, Orgeron was humble enough to accept his assistant’s guidance. And third, Slinger is a friggin stud!

I'm sure the rant"s take will be hot here, just like it was when Orgeron got hired.

Orgeron was by far the best candidate for the LSU job at that time. Jimbo and Herman were never coming here.

CEO will beat TAM this year also.
