He is working damn hard to get us there for sure. It would be nice if we could win an opener.

Winning the opener would be a HUGE victory for the program as a whole.

LSU averaged 7.9 wins per year in the 10 years prior to BK and that is WITH a 15 win season

With bow/Conf Champl Ws, I'm getting 9 wins per year. Without post-season, its 8.3. Where did you get 7.9?

Year Wins
2021 6
2020 5
2019 15
2018 10
2017 9
2016 8
2015 9
2014 8
2013 10
2012 10
Total: 90

If things go good and it improved like it did from 23 to 24, we'll be 9th out of 16. That is not fixed. Sorry.

Why would you cap the improvement at 9th? We have studs everywhere on defense. From a pure talent standpoint, this is the best D we have had since 2019. Now yes, Baker needs to have these guys playing well together but we aren't trotting Sage Ryan and Major Burns out there this fall.

I agree that 9th wouldn't be good enough but this team has the talent to be a top 5 SEC defensea and a top 25 defense in all of college football.

LSU averaged 7.9 wins per year in the 10 years prior to BK and that is WITH a 15 win season. They also only won 10 games twice in that time frame and both were with Joe Burrow at QB.

The best 10 year stretch in school history was from 2003-2012. LSU won 107 games during that span and averaged 10.7 wins per year.

And that's not even bringing up how much of a disaster the program was when he took it over. Some people really don't understand how bad everything was. It wasn't just the firing of O and losing the players. The whole program was rotting from the inside and he came in and stabilized it and did a damn good job to keep us afloat while building the program back up.

BK haters really hate numbers and facts.

You are right. I only had 2013 at 9 wins because Wiki says "0-3" since the wins were vacated. I also mistakenly only counted 9 years. Thats what happens when you are posting while working.

If 2019 plays Texas week 1 do they win that game? Before answering, remember how hard it was for that team to win it in week 2

I give him credit for what he's done well...

Roster construction, administrative stability.

He gets a D- for hiring coordinators. Denbrock left after one year. Polian was horrible, as was house. When Denbrock left, he searched the world over and came up with Joe Sloan.

He hasn't used Perkins properly. He said the other day he wanted Trey'Dez to be an "complete" TE...moving guys from the LOS blocking. Why? Leave TDG alone. Let him set up on the LOS, motion to the slot and create mismatches.

But the job he's done bringing in a highly competitive roster of the Sheet Show of Special Ed...hell yeah. Big Ups!

Yeah...he took a team that averaged 10 wins a year for 10 years and in 3 years he has averaged 9.5 wins a year with an extra game. Hurray!!!

If you use math instead of feelings, you end up with Averaging 9 wins per year (including postseason) to winning 9.5, which is improvement.

but the stability is getting there

We don't want 9-3 and 8-4 type stability.

He's being paid very handsomely to turn the program around and has been serviceable at that, given how much he's making.

This is the make-it or break-it year

Personal opinion, Kelly has been amazing as a GM, okay (by LSU standards) as a head coach between games, and bad as a coach in game.

I get it, no one can be great at everything. We needed stability more than anything and he brought us an absolutely elite level program that needs to be the basis of how LSU operates year in and year out after he is gone.

Getting his players prepared and strategizing for games has been okay, I have only seen us completely unprepared for opening games in year 1 and 3. I think we generally have a good game plan heading into the game.

In game coaching and adjustments suck though. I still cannot get over our meltdown against A&M destroying us was the read option run and a QB that couldn’t throw the ball. That play has been solved since the offseason of 2005, still do not understand this failure. That being said, as long as he is aware of this and highest good coordinators this can be masked.

This is the best team BK has had and I will judge him accordingly on what he does with it. I've been cautiously optimistic this far but if he misses the playoffs this year, it means he can't take the next step.

And no this team isn't better than 2019 anywhere other than TE, and maybe RB if Durham crushes and Berry blows up.

The facts are

3-6 vs Top 25 opponents
2-5 vs Top 10 opponents

3 shitty bowl games

4-11 vs top 10 opponents at Notre Dame seems like a trend.

Roster so bad that it won the SEC West, and had a shot at the playoffs until BK shite the bed versus aTm.

Ever wonder why BK’s best team at LSU was his first team?

Only one major mistake, IMO, hiring and keeping Matt House.
