Link? Cause O himself said the hire would either have to bring something new to the table or buy into the scheme we already had in place.

So, lemme guess...you did a Google search and came across this SB Nation Cowboys blog and decided to take it as gospel? You should've at least credited the blog in your title...

But while the recurring narrative is that Garrett’s offense has become stale and predictable - which it definitely did from a playcalling standpoint under Scott Linehan - the reality is that Garrett and others have made tweaks to the Air Coryell scheme over time and blended in elements of other offensive philosophies.

Ensminger is the OC. He learned from Brady (and Brady learned from him too). He will run the O. We just hired a guy who, if nothing else, can develop quarterbacks. That’s what he’s here for

No Ive watched the Cowboys for 30 years. Its the same reason Jerry Jones said the new coach should get to pick his own staff this time around. Also, we just hired Nick Sabans OC from the Dolphins. Hes as far from Payton as it gets.

Sorry, but you give Ensminger way too much credit. The guy may bleed purple and gold, but innovative and creative in drawing up plays, he is not. He said so himself. That’s why Orgeron brought in Brady. Now you expect Ensminger to just regurgitate Brady’s plays and everything will be ok. That’s BS. We needed someone who could help with that. Instead we basically got the anti-Brady. It’s a piss poor hire at best.

Dude, he is passing game coordinator and he is known for being involved with great qb/wr corps throughout his career. Wtf don't you understand man? He's not our offensive coordinator, he's our passing game coordinator and will be working with our qbs and wrs in that regard alone. Ensminger is our oc, like he was last season...you know, the season that we set offensive records that will never be broken anytime soon...possibly never. Damn, some of our fans are just beyond stupid and so frickin negative. How some of y'all go through yalks lives and have any semblance of happiness and contentment? Holy shite.

Didn'twe hire him to coach up the QB's and passing game... which he has shown that he is incredibly good at?

Did somebody name him OC While I was napping???

Trust O. He has earned it.

Matt Stafford had his best years with linehan. Seems like a handful of guys can say that too

I think he’s being brought in more for qb development

Who said you have to have a PGC at all? Now you think he is the most important coach?

It seems really important because before the last PGC we had a really fricking terrible passing offense.

It sucked.

A lot.

Who else is going to run it? Old man Ensminger?

Either one is bad news.

He’s not good. We have a few Cowboys fans here I’m one of em and I can tell you this guy is garbage. He would’ve been perfect for the previous HC here because he’s about as innovative as a plastic fork.

You don't have a clue, just an attitude.
I doubt few if anyone on this board knows the obstacles he had in his previous jobs.
I glanced at his previous positions but I don't know if the owners wanted innovation or if his quarterbacks and offensive players could run such an offense.

Lol Jerry was on his arse weekly because he couldn’t figure out how to use RPOs and Dak’s legs or figure out how to line up Amari Cooper in more than one spot. We better pray that he has very little input but judging by the pay that won’t happen.
